Reset first, then Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If the msg persists, go ahead and call Samsung for instructions on repairing the player. I do not see a repair or recovery tool for that model on their website.

Screen Stuck

The Samsung YP-F1 has a reset button located under the black Samsung cover plate. It can be gently removed via a finger nail or mini flat blade screwdriver. Once plate is removed a hole labeled reset will be seen. Use something like a paper clip and press in. MP3 will power down/reset. MP3 data is also retained after reset.

Screen Stuck!

Mine did the same thing, but I fixed easily. Wait till it turns its self off then plug it back into the computer. If all is good it should say that it is charging. Then unplug it to see if it turns back on. Hope it starts!
