Craftsman 22 hp. When I engage the mower deck it seems that there is a problem with the electric clutch. The deck does not engage and there is an audible hissing sound from the pulley just under the electric clutch. The Clutch is sjpinning but it seem to not be engaging.

Make sure that the clutch is being fed 12 volts or the clutch will not engage. Also make sure that the belt is not stretched and worn so bad that the clutch pulley will not grab it. Good luck. donnyb60

Craftman lawn tractor 20.0 HP 42" electric start blades will not engage

Check for voltage at the electric pto clutch connector if 12 +volts is there when the switch is on then the clutch is bad; otherwise, you need back through the wiring to find the problem.

Where is the PTO switch?

The switch is on the dash bezel, the electric clutch is on the deck. Some clutches can be adjusted but I need the model number of your mower first.

Tractor shuts off when clutch is engaged craftman 22 hp 50" mower

Hello,

I had the same problem. My problem was something was preventing the blades from spinning, so the 1st thing you can do is check to make sure your blades turn, and test this while the mower is off.

While it is a pain, you can also take the deck out and check to see if this help and you are able to freely turn the blades. If everything is working properly, you should be able to turn the blades by hand.

In my case, I has a stick jammed into the belts and pulley, so when I would engage the blade, it would cause my mower to stall when it tried to engage the belt.

Hope this helps.
