Problem for LG 42LC2D 42 in. HDTV LCD Television

I bought this tv 2 weeks ago and had it hung on the wall and powered it up. At this point, before having Directv hooked up, the unit would stay on power standby (red light on when unit not on) and start up easily when I hit the remote or unit's "power" button.
Now, since having Directv hook up, the unit will power up intially, but once shut off for more then ten minutes or so, the standby (red light) power isn't on and I can't get the tv to turn on. If I unplug it for awhile - 30 minutes or more - it comes back on.
I've read the manual 10 times over and can't seem to figure out a solution...HELP!

- my problem with my lg 37 inch lcd tv is that when i try to switch it on the green light flashes and it goes back to stand by mode this happens for 3 to 4 days then it works then when i switch it off again i cant get it back on for another 3 to 4 days does anyone know a solution for this.- sahra_06Best Solution

This set has a modification that needs to be done. It will also start turning on by itself and changing channels rapidly.
It's two weeks old. Take it back to the Retailer or if that is not an option contact LG at 1-800-243-0000 to get a local servicer in your area.
