Not to worrry , but there is a sliding button, knob that makes the set pause and called as HOLD. All you need to do is to slide the knob back, look at teh side of the door/set. please look carefully even if the pause is pressed twice.

-Hold button keeps displaying

The unit has a hold button that keeps you from accidentally activating the device when it's in a purse or backpack, which preserves battery power and also prevents changing tracks if buttons are accidentally pushed while in play mode. Look on the player for the hold button and turn it to the off position. I hope this helps and good luck!

Unable to play cd and unable to listen to radio. screen reads 'hold'

Look for a switch or button with the word "lock", or a picture of a key...
Push button, or flip switch.. If that doesn't work remove batteries, wait 10 min. replace batteries.

i had the same problem, actually about a minute ago, what you need to do is make sure that you blow into the lazer track, but use canned air, because you might ruin it if you spit accidently, lol.

Hold down the Display/Menu function button (one of those three buttons on the left of the unit) for about 3-4 seconds until the display reads "t set". When this appears, push the track forward button once (>>|) so the display reads "beep"; now press the play pause button (>||) once. The display will now say "on", push the track forward button (>>|) once to make it read "off"; now push the stop play button. You're done. Enjoy the silence.

Cd player buttons don't work

On almost every port. cd player is a botton lock switch . Some make all the buttons not work and some units only let play work. I suggest you look for this before taking apart as these units have whats called ribbon cable inside them and are very easy to damage them.
