Question about Ricoh Aficio 1515F Plain Paper Laser Fax
We have the 1515F Fax. We do not have a handset attached. However, the mode (all by itself) will switch to Handset. This interferes with our ability to send and receive faxes. The only way to fix the problem is to UNPLUG the fax and wait - 30 minutes seems to do the trick. Then the Handset mode will go away and we can send and receive faxes again. Until it happens again - which is frequently. We send and receive many faxes everyday and can't continue with this issue. Help! Thank you, Sue
Hi Sue, Can you tell me if there is anything else conencted to your fax line? Most Ricoh products will display handset if the dialtone is not detected. It could be that something is using the line or is causing it to short. Another thing to check if the machine is an older 1515- if this occurs after you receive a fax and you are behind a PBX, there was a batch of modems in the Ricoh machines that had a problem with not disconnecting the line, resulting in the handset being displayed. Could be any number of items, normally I would start the troubleshhoting with line issues and go from there.. Brad
