Microsoft Word 2003

Hi Guys I have a very strange problem with Word. In the last few days if I minimise two word documents and then try and retore one, the program completely shuts down. I have tried everything including reinstalling Word. I have good virus protection and no viruses have been identified. This does not happen with other programmes and I haven't done anything differently. Any help would be great

How to recover MS Word 2007 Corrupted files

Here's where to look;
HD > Users > [my user name] > Library > Containers > > Data > Library > Preferences > AutoRecovery > Presentation1_autorecover
Copy the file to the desktop and change the extension to .pptm and then double click it. Should be good to your last auto save point.
Cheers and best of luck.

I want to reinstall words

If you have its software wich came with the program, the insert the CD and install it that way.
But if you don't have the CD or the software then go to START open panel control and look where says computer device or computer system and computer hardware. (try to find where says DEVICE MANAGER and click on play all devices to make the cd run)

or do what I did. I downloaded a better microsoft word than 2003

go to google and type "download microsoft word beta 2010"
and follow the instructions.

have a good luck!

Microsoft Office Won't Start Properly

Please first uninstall all the existing versions of MS Office. Then try to clean temporary files, cache and registry then install MS Office.

if you want to install only MS Office 2007, no need to install MS office 2003 and upgrade. directly install MS Office 2007.

Make sure the format that you are saving your document in is .doc or .rtf.  Then find the file in My Documents, right click, and select open with.  Then select Word 2003.

MS Excel 2007 won't save my worksheet

I find this a little perplexing too. Without sounding patronising are you sure you are saving it to the same location that you are attempting to open it from?

Something to try.. Excel keeps a record of the last 4 things you were working on in the file menu. Try clicking 'File' then the 2 little down arrows (if they are there) and it should bring up a list of previous documents. Try the last one or 2 and see if either of these are a more up to date version than the one you last worked on. If so in future always choose 'File' - 'Save as' when saving a document and make sure you choose a document path you are sure of.

Really hope this helps.

Office 2003 Standard edition compatible w/ Small Business edition

Where were you saving the old Excel files to: c:\my documents for example. Is your new Excel saving or retrieving documents from the same location? If not, it will look like the old files are gone, when Excel is simply looking in the wrong place.

An installation won't wipe out data files--they're in two different locations. If you do a global wildcard search (*.xls) you will probably find them.

When you double-click the file in Windows Explorer, the file opens correctly.

To resolve this problem, install new update for your version of the Office program.
