my remote is not working and the only way to look @ dvd's is with the remote. Can I use a universal remote? How do I get another remote for my TV?

Sansui remote not working with new batteries. I have tried Philips and Magnavox Universal remotes. I can't find the right code or its the TV because scan through codes by channeling up and the TV will change channels but when you lock code, the remote does not respond again. Has anyone had this issue?

you usluly can use a universl remote with tvs but it depens on the brand and youy will have to set it up to the tv

This morning when we got up our remote wouldn't work, put new batteries in, nothing. Our 15 year old took the remote apart and cleaned the board with his fingers(do not use anything liquid) it worked after that. Give it a shot before you go spend $ on a universal remote that probably is not compatable with your TV anyway. to get the remote apart use a flat tool like a butter knife. Be gentle with the chip board.
