I need to send 1 fax to several recepts

You can send a fax to up to 142 fax numbers, using any combination of dialing methods:
- One-touch Speed Dialing (up to 32 destinations)
Press the desired One-Touch Speed dial button(s)
- Coded Speed Dialing (up to 100 destinations)
Press [Coded Dial] > enter the 2 digit code (00-99) using the numeric buttons and be sure to press [Coded Dial] before each code
- Regular dialing and redialing (10 destinations)
Enter the number using the numeric buttons or [Redial/Pause] and be sure to press [Set] after each entry with the numeric keys

After all the numbers are listed, press [Start]. The machine will scan in the document (memory) and then begin sending it to the destinations in numerical order, starting with One-Touch, then Coded and finally the numbers dials with the numeric keys.

You can also create a group if you frequently send faxes to the same group of people by first saving them as One-Touch and then adding them to a new group.

How to specify fax machine to dial '9' before fax number?

Hello ilay,

This procedure is from the Brother FAX-4100e FAQ link:

Storing Speed Dial numbers:
You can store Speed Dial locations on your machine(*). Once you have programmed the Speed Dial number on your machine, you can dial the number by pressing Search/Speed Dial, #(Pound Sign), the Speed Dial number, and then Fax Start.
*The number of locations you can store varies by machines. Please refer to the User's Guide for your machine. The latest User's Guide is available in the Manuals section.

To store Speed Dial numbers follow the steps listed below:

1. Press Menu.
2. Press the left or right arrow key to select Fax and press Set.
3. Press the left or right arrow key to select Set Auto Dial or Set Quick Dial, and press Set.
4. Press the left or right arrow key to select Speed-Dial and press Set.
5. Use the dial pad to enter the location (Speed Dial number) where you wish to store the number and press Set.
6. Enter the number you want to store (up to 20 digits) and press Set.

If you want to enter a pause in the dialing sequence (to wait for an outside line, for example), press Redial/Pause as you're entering digits. Pressing Redial/Pause enters a 3.5-second pause when the number is dialed, and a dash appears on the screen. If you need a pause longer than 3.5 seconds you can press Redial/Pause as many times as needed.
7. Use the dial pad to enter the name or company name (up to 15 characters) and press Set.
If you want to store the number without a name, just press Set.
8. Return to STEP 5 to store another Speed Dial number or press Stop/Exit to exit the menu.

Group speed dial option is not lit up and will not let me click on it.....
Pages 5-1 thru 5-3 in the Users Guide cover One Touch, Speed Dial and Group Dialing (Broadcast Dialing). Apparently one touch and/or speed dialing need to be set up first. Hope this helps.

Group fax

This is an involved process. You first have to register (log in) each of the parties in the group individually as a one-touch speed dial or a coded speed dial. Then you register the group to and list each of the parties in that group.

Rather than give you a step-by-step, you can get the manual here. Wait a few seconds for the page to load. Click on the link for the manual and it will open in a separate window (pdf). Click on the save icon in the upper left corner to save the manual to your computer.

Chapter 6 in the manual gives you complete instructions for registering one-touch speed dials, coded speed dials, and group speed dials.

Is there a way to program it to fax to a group of numbers at one time

You can use the "Broadcast " feature to send one fax to up to 112 numbers listed in your speed dial. To set this up:
  1. Insert the original into the ADF.
  2. Press Quick Scan/Reports. The display should show how much memory is available.
  3. Enter the One-Touch or Speed Dial numbers for the recipients you want to send to (one after the other). You can also setup a group dial number.
  4. Press Fax Start. The machine will scan the document into memory and then dial all the numbers you've entered. If any are busy it will attempt to redial.
  5. Press Stop/Exit at any time to cancel the broadcast.
If you need further instruction on how to setup group or speed dial numbers, Brother provides the user manual online.

Hope this helps!

Speed dials

I'm not sure if this will help because I haven't seen a 2060 control panel but most Canon fax machines use the same process. Press either "menu" or "data registration" button. (Again -I'm not sure of 2060 control panel.) Display should read "user settings" Press the "down arrow" (looks like an upside down triangle) until the display reads "tel settings" Press "set" Display reads Speed Dials Press "set" Display should give the # of the speed dial (ie. Speed Dial 01) Press "set" Display reads "tel number" Press "set" input # you want to send faxes to Press "set" Display reads "Name" Press "set" use letters on keypad to input receivers name (ie. For letter "C" press #2 three times, you may have to use the arrow keys to move the cursor for names such as BC Corp) Once name is input - you guessed it- Press "set" you will now be presented with various other send options which most people/businesses never use. You can hit stop to return to normal mode. After inputting speed dial #'s & names, you can print a list of what you have input by getting back to the "Tel registration" screen & pressing the report button. I can be reached @ if you need more assistance. Good Luck!!
