The machine fills and drains on wash cycle but willnot spin

The washer flashes a cl code when its done draining and wont start to spin. the washer was not makeing any strange noise and was working ok

C1. Your motor was stopped due to overloading, inbuilt device, reduce weight of clothes (put less clothes). Press 'stop' & 'cancel' to clear the display.

Washer wont drain. fills with water. goes through wash cycle but wont drain. once it gets to the spin cycle, it spins for a few seconds and then stops and rinse light comes back on.

Won't drain and spin. Cycle completes and all the lights on far right flash. Door won't open. Bottom of washer is filled with water. Tried putting it on drain and spin cycle. Still won't drain. Beeps...

Kenmore topload washing machine that wont switch to drain

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.#######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

Then, see the Whirlpool / Kenmore Service Manual for top load, direct drive washers.

Normally, this would appear to be a Lid Switch or Neutral Drain problem BUT since it is re-filling , it sounds like a Timer problem.

Could be heater. Try machine on rince cycle.Not pressure switch. If mahine works on rince then chances are heater. But this should not affect spin

The machine wont spin when in spin cycle and

try cleaning out the coin trap/drain hose that is underneath the machine
this is also the error code E20 which sometimes the machine will start flashing
