My girlfriend has a big screen television, when you turn on the television there is no picture and it makes a heart beat noise. She thinks it is a mother electric board, or something like that....is she correct in her thinking?

The clicking you hear is probably caused by a relay that controls the incoming AC to the main power supply. This is a protective reaction to a problem in the power supply itself or an overload due to a failure downstream from the supply. This is not a likely DIY repair. You will probably need a technician to determine which of these two likely problems it is.

No picture on flat screen new, with cable

IF THIS IS A LCD---TURN ON, AS NORMAL AND HAVE A SIGNAL INPUT,,CABLE ,SATELLITE CONNECTED TO THE ANTENNA INPUT .MAKE SURE YOU HEAR SOUND.. HOLD A LIGHT (THE BRIGHTER THE BETTER) IN FRONT OF THE THE SCREEN ('BOUT 3 INCHES)--IF YOU SEE A DIM PICTURE---BAD SCREEN AND THATS BIG BUCKS---IF STILL NO PICTURE--CIRCUIT BOARDS AND USUALLY THATS BIG BUCKS!! GOOD LUCK
