My electric front load dryer looks like is working ok, but actually is not drying the clothes, but when you check the area next to the door is really hot!!!! what could be the reason
Thanks
My Simpson sirocco 350 has exactly the same problem as Lyn describes. The drum inside the door gets so hot I burned myself.
Simultaneously it's started making a loud vibrating noise and the heat settings don't seem to be working.
I repaired my broken fan belt with a drop of super glue - there is virtually no load on the belt and it now works perfectly again. A 30 sec quick fix.
I have the same model and same symptoms.
My problem turned out to be the fan belt firstly slipping off, then subsequently snapping. (I suspect it was an indication that it was going to break, when it started slipping off).
I am in the process of sourcing said fan belt.
One place I found was http://spares.alliedappliance.com.au/catalogue_4_4_6_73.html
However I have not used them before so I cannot vouch for their services.
Also as with all work carried out on electrical equipment, you should leave it to qualified professionals.
