I detected that there was no power coming to 102K NYET, Position E424, SAMSUNG 1997, Model TXE 46 27
I changed this cylindrical device with copper coils inside with a smaller version from an old SAMSUNG, model not known and tester indicated power. A similar device also marked NYE has five pins instead of four as in the dead one 102k NYET from my model. The moment I switched it on, there was a normal starting sound, then the blinking green light came and the click, click click sound took over and continued for two minutes and then switched off automatically. what then took over was a timer sound in a black plastic tubing that is connected to the CRT by three cables at the back of the board. (sorry it is my first time fiddling with this forgive my naivety). As long as the TV is plugged on the timing sound continues as if it is a degital clock. What is the next step I should take. If I try to switch it on now with my finger it does not switch on anymore. Is it because I need a specifci remote control? Could any top expect help? I was tempted to think that it might have been programmed using a remote. Help please?

Hi,
I have fixed this problem many times. To start you must unplug the set and take the back off.
Close to where the AC plug cord goes in next to the relay which is in a small plastic box about 2 inches long and 3/4 inch wide and 2 inches high there is a capacitor which is a cylinder type component that has the location of c858 and it has two connections one positive and one negative. You can see the negative sign on the side of it. It should have the number 470 and 25 V on it too. This part is bad and must be replaced. Unsolder old and solder in new. You can get at Radio Shack for around a dollar. When you put the new one in it must be correct negative and positive as the one took out. Be sure to make good solder connections
This will definitely fix the problem

I was thrilled reading our kind Forumite's instruction on how to get my broken Samsung txe2746 wiht the above problem repaired. The cylinder specified located at C858 supposed to be numbered 470 turned out to be the wrong one. The one with that specification is C808 with the number 470, and 25V. Did I misread your instructions or it could be that mine is a different model? Should I go ahead and change the C808 just for the sake of trying. Is this recommended?
C702 102K / 2KV capacitor shorted,located near transformer,
possibly partly covered with glue.Use Sony part # 1-161-754-00
102K / 3KV for replacement. Check E994 pico fuse ( 2 amp ).
Let me know by rating my suggestion....T.
