I have a ruud silhouette furnace. it's been here in the attic since the house was built in 2001. There is a metal pan around the base of the furnace and it keep filling with water.I see where the wate

The water is condensation from the evaporator coils and is normal. There should be a drain pipe or hose from the pan either to the outside of the home or into the wastewater drain. It is also normal for dirt to accumulate on the evaporator coils and some of it ends up in the pan and clogs the drain. Cleaning the coils and flushing out the drain is something that should be done at least yearly.

Hello, in order to get to the evaporator coil you must cut into the plenum above the Furnace. This will require sheet metal tools and being very careful not to puncture the coil. Many times a cracked condensate pan under the evapoartor coil can cause water to leak down to the base of the unit.

Hello, I have a Ruud 10 seer unit in the condo i rent...it frequently stops cooling. The fan inside never shuts off, but the unit outside won't come on often enough to cool to the temp on thermostat. When...

It sounds like the air cond is freezing up, and as he melts the ice off he evaporator coil you will have air flow again. When the evaporator, (which is the coil that absorbs the heat from your condo) is frozen over, no air flow can pass through it. The evaporator is located either above the furnace or below the furnace. Therefore, the indoor fan will continue to run, but no cool air will be coming out of the vents. What causes it to freeze up? Usually it is low on refrigerant (some people call it freon). If there is a leak in the system, he may charge it with refrigerant, and then in a few days or weeks later have to thaw it out, and charge it again. If this is the case, you might want to request the leak be located and fixed. Another reason it will freeze up is a dirty filter. Or, if the unit did not have a filter in it for quite some time, the evaporator could possibly be stopped up with dirt resulting in poor air flow all the time and and eventual freeze up of the evaporator. Hope this helps you, stay cool.

If you haven`t changed your furnace filter do so. If there still isn`t any air flow then the evaporator coil is plugged with dirt and needs cleaned. It is inside your furnace where the pipes from the outside unit connects. As far as the auxilary heat, this is normal when the house temperature drops to far below the thermostat set point and they will turn off when the house is close to temperature and lets the heat pump take over.

Both circuit board lights blink at the same time when unit turns on. Air pressure out of vents is low. Air is cool but not cooling house down.

your filters might be plugged. if you just changed or cleand the filters and they were plugged the evaporator coil might be dirty not allowing the proper amount of air flow. The evaporator is usualy lokated right above or below the furnace in a coil case that has several screws holding the front panels on. Take a look at the filters and evaporator and make sure their clean. Also wash the out side condenser coil with a garden hose with nozzel. make sure you spray strait into the coil and not at an angle. it will bend the fins. start at the top and work your way down. hope this helps you out.

I THINK THIS IS THE RIGHT MODEL. FREEZING UP. NEED TO FIND COILS.

The condenser coil is in the outdoor unit. Turn off the power. Take a garden hose without the nozzle. You want to use gentle pressure. Just simply using your thumb to control the spray. Spray the water up at an angle under the slanted lovers. use a generous amount of water. you should see the dirt coming our. You will have to take the cover off to clean that side of the coil. Be careful so you do not get the electrical controls wet when the door is off. The Evaporator coil is located in the supply air plenum downstream of the airflow. ( the top if its in a basement). You probably will need to open the ductwork.
Good luck.....

Model number for Carrier furnace with issue for blower 5 minute off delay

I believe that this model number is for an air conditioner evaporator coil. This unit is probably directly attached to your furnace. The Model number for the furnace will be located in the compartment where the flames can be seen. It will be on a sticker or plate that contains lots of other information too like BTU/h, Volts etc...

The number you gave me gives me this info:
Cased air conditioning evaporator coil.
3 Tons
Horizontal application
