I shut down last night normally but today nothing. I press the power button, The hard drive makes the two little sounds it always makes but no orchestra start up sound and the drive doesn't seem to start spinning either. I have taken out the battery, unhooked all external hardware, tried starting up with command+option+p+r to clear the memory and nothing works. I'm going to take it in on Monday but I have work to do so if anyone can suggest a do it yourself idea, I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
-   Same problem here. It started with showing this behaviour every now and then, usually letting the MacBook cool down solved it for me, but now it got permantent. Seems it's the CPU thermometer issue as described on www.macbookrandomshutdown.com
