Blue error screen when starting up computer

When I power up my laptop, it looks like everything is going fine....until it gets to the Microsoft logo screen with the start up blocks at the bottom. The blocks of blue only get to half way when it pauses and a blue screen error appears.

Re: Blue error screen when starting up computer

Ok sounds as if you may have a possible "Driver Conflict" or the like... Have you installed any software recently? If so try booting into "Safe Mode" and Uninstalling it... To try to fix it, you have a few options... firstly you can try booting into "Safe Mode" by pressing F8, straight after turn on... when at the "Safe Mode Menu" choose "Last Known Good Configuration". here is a link to help you understand... "Safe Mode" Please find a link below to repair ya install if trying last known good, software removal etc, don't work.. Just take it easy step by step.. ya will be back to bits in no time :)

try to start in safe mode and if this is start normally , probably you have a virus, or a wrong driver installed. If you get the same error blue screen also in safe mode is possible to have an imperfect connection between hard disk and mother board, or a RAM failure Those are most common problems. If you don`t have important data to lose on system partition, try to reinstall the system operation (windows) If you get the same blue screen , ... definitely you have hardware problems like HDD or RAM malfunction.

Black screen

Sounds like your screen is being switched to "Power Save" mode due to inactivity. This should switch back when the mouse is moved. This can take several seconds on a laptop. You can remove this "Power Save" by right clicking anywhere on blank desktop, select "Properties", "Screen Saver" and "Power Settings" then select "Always On" for the monitor.

I have a presario 2500 laptop and it will start go to the windows xp loading screen then will go to a blue screen with just the windows xp logo and cant do anything after that but move my mouse

click f5 before xp starts to load. choose halt on error and record code. google that code. most often it is a bios error after a new install (memory...etc.) sometimes you can boot into safe mode to undo a recent change. if all else fails reinstall...could be bad hard drive boot sector also.....check code first

Hp pavilion zx5000 windows will not start, goes to blue screen

If you are getting a Blue screen repeatedly and you can't start up to windows in any custom setting ( from f8 start up menu ) one way to solve the problem is to Use the restore disc or windows installation cd or dvd to install windows into the computer or perform a repair installation if a windows already exists on the computer and the setup can find it.

how to perform a repair installation

this is for xp, but its similar on 2000 and on vista.

insert your Windows XP Setup CD, and restart your computer.

1.When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.

if not then the computer is not set to start up from a cd, you can either enter the setup / bios to change that setting OR right when you power up the computer look at the screen it will say what button to press in order to enter boot menu or bios, it will very likely be button F12 or similar, it should say on the screen when you power on.

if it doesn't, then you need to go into the bios and change the boot order so that the computer starts from the CD first.

after that you should be able to start from the cd and install the OS (Operating system, eg.Windows)

here's some info on how to work the bios:

Repeat step 1 when you have changed the boot order.

2.Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.

3.Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.

4.In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.

5.Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.

6.Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

7.Ones windows is working you will need the drivers for your computer, they are at the makers website, for hp and compaq. for acer for all other brands go to google and write Brand drivers. Should get you to the right place. Dell is most likely and so on.

E-machine is locked up

Try to reboot the machine in safe mode. This is generally done with the F8 key. To do this...start computer, make sure F lock key light is on and hold down the F8 function key. It will ask whether you want to start in several different ways: Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, Normal, etc. Try Safe Mode. Go to Start>Control Panel>System. Under System Properties>Device Manager and look for Yellow exclamation points. Delete all of the exclamation points (make sure you have your original system disk). The video camera will probably be listed. Hope this helps.

ZV5000 laptop wont boot up

Hi, You will need to boot from a boot disc or your Windows operating CD and from there you will be able to format the hard drive and reload windows.
If your hard disc has corrupted then placing the windows cd in the drive it should boot directly from there as there is no other operating system available.

Let us know how you go,
