Question about Epson Stylus Photo R300 InkJet Printer
The status window tells me: ------------------------------- Paper jam or CD/DVD tray jam: For sheets of paper, turn off the printer and then remove any jammed paper by hand. For a CD or DVD, remove the CD/DVD tray. Next, press the Maintenance button on the printer or click the Eject button if it appears on this screen. ------------------------------- In reality, the paper is not jammed. The paper feed simply won't feed the paper beyond just behind the six little white rolls and the larger roll beneath that would grab a hold of the paper and pull it through. Does anyone know what to clean/tweak to fix this problem?
I am running Vista Ultimate SP1 x64 all updates and have been trying to sort out the fake paper jam on my Epson R300. I tried compressed air from my workshop compressor; believe me if anything was blocking the feed it wouldn't after I blasted it lol! anyway I also tried running some thick card through and still nothing, did some button pressing to get out of maintenance errors and all sorts of other things. I was about 5 mins away from reluctantly scrapping the printer when I happened across SSC Utility.
I downloaded SSC Utility, but there didn't seem to be much that would sort out the paper jam so out of curiosity I decided to click a few things and then test the printer.
The only thing I ended up Clicking was 'Reset Protection Counter' and that worked, it printed out fine.
so that was my solution, we'll see how long it lasts.

I had the very same problem unitl a moment ago!! I found some A4 card and forced it through the printer. I tried to print a document as usual, as the rollers (inside the printer) lifted, i pushed the card through in an attempt to clear any blockage which wasn't visible to me. It cleared the block and is now working perfectly again !! give it a go.

Tips for a great answer:
Carefully remove the jammed photo paper. Gently pull the paper up and out of the paper feeder tray.
Reload the paper into the tray. Stack the paper on a flat surface and then carefully slide the paper stack straight into the paper feeder tray---along and aligned with the right side of the tray. Secure the stack in place by sliding the left "edge guide" against the paper stack.
Press the "OK" button to resume printing. If you had a "Paper is jammed in the printer..." error message displayed on the control panel LCD, pressing "OK" should also clear the message.
Pull the paper from the printer, if the status message reappears and/or the printer doesn't print, and check the paper for folds, buckling and curled edges or corners. Also check the sheets for sticking. If any of your sheets stick or have damage, remove them from your photo paper stack and replace with new sheets. Reload the paper and press "OK" to try again.
