Re: Display

Is this on the both hand sets? If it is then the only thing common to the both of them is the base and that would be your problem. If it is not then you will have to change the handset that is fading. It is not worth it to repair the handset

All three philips CD-150 phones display screens are not readable / only a few letters are visable

This is common with cordless phones. If the numbers starts to not show of face or disappear then it means the LCD is finished and needs to be replaced. Chances are that it would be more cost effective to buy a new TRIPPLE SET of phones as suppose to replacing the LCD's. Good examples are printers. It is cheaper to buy a brand new printer that comes with ink as suppose to buying new cartridges for the old one. Some parts and consumeables are just too expensive.

Hope this helps
enjoy :)

Nothing shows up in the display. This has only been recently after a power glitch. The display lights when a call is made or received.

I unplugged the base unit from the wall for more than 10 minutes. Sometime after I plugged it back in (not immediately)the display re-appeared.

Led display disappearing

If you cannot do without your phone and your display is going bad, you will have to decide which is the best option for you. You can get a replacement base and recycle your old one to save money. You can get a replacement base then have your old one fixed so you always have a backup ready when that unexpected lighting storm passes through. Or, if you can do without your base, you can send it in for repair. And lastly, if you have fixed electronics equipment before, and/or are willing to risk messing your unit up entirely, you can order a new display and install it yourself. Siemens did not abandon their cordless product line like a few people have mentioned in other blogs, they merely directed it off to an independent facility to provide future service and some parts for the do it yourselfers. You can go to their website to find the repair service facility, or google Siemens Cordless Repair and click the first few unsponsored links.
