Well, I don't have alot of info here from you; but maybe you or someone else spilled some liquid on the keyboard? Maybe you or someone else got mad at the laptop and hit the keys so hard they broke. (I did that once) But at any rate, if not check to make sure your arrow keys arent part of the numeric keypad. If they are, you'll have to set the num-lock to off to use them or else they will display numbers. If your laptop is like mine, the arrow keys are seperate. They might just have wore out. You can replace the keyboard for cheap (13$US - 15-17 Sterling Pounds) and its fairly easy to replace if you know a little about laptops. Seek on ebay or amazon to find a new keyboard if you think the keys are ruined. Thats about all I can tell you with the very little info you gave here.

My arrow keys aren't working, only the FN function even when not being pressed

Either you have a stuck key, or your keyboard is shorted maybe due to liquid being spilled into it. Lightly tap the affected keys to unstuck it, or put the laptop in a well-ventilated area if liquid was spilled to let it dry.

Emachines laptop - arrow keys not functioning

Hi.. If your arrow keys not working cuz maybe little cracked or broken from inside.. You could get them replaced, there are these guys i got my dauthers laptop $ ,A and M keys replaced from, they sell replacement keys with hinges and all the underneath fittings...

Just say unable to clean 35. nothing is working

Hi there you can try this not know if it will work for you but it works with some brother printers

1. Press the Menu & Mono start keys. Next press the up arrow key 4 times to make the machine enter the maintenance mode.

2. Enter 8 & 0 by using the up arrow key & SET keys.

3. Press the mono start key several times until the purge count appears on the LCD.

4. Enter 2 7 8 & 3 by using the up arrow key & set keys to reset the purge count to zero

5. Press the stop/exit key to return to the initial stage of the maintenance mode.

6. Enter 9 twice by using the up arrow & set key's to exit from maintenance mode

Left and right arrow keys not functioning

check the arrow keys it it's also not functioning in the BIOS:
- restart the system and press F2 five times during the splash screen of the big blue DELL logo to go to the BIOS (System Setup). Then test the arrow keys.
- if arrow keys are also not functioning within the BIOS the the keyboard assembly needs to be replaced.
- if arrow keys are working within the BIOS then reinstall the chipset drivers and keyboard driver found in the Drivers CD/DVD that came with the computer.

Arrow keys

If the keys are working on a notepad or else while typing it the issue is not with the arrow keys but with the key controls of the game that you are playing. Please change the setting of the keys while playing game or else try playing another game using the same arrow keys, i m sure it would work.
