I have a client who wants me to create an Audio CD master with a 7 minute pregap BEFORE track one begins. I have Sound Forge 9 and CD Architect 5 which says you can do it. The problem is that the CDR burner ''requires the start time for track 1 to be exactly 2 seconds'' Is there a CDR burner that will allow me to do this OR do you know how I can do this? or is it impossible. This client is adamant about this, but I need to know if it is techologically possible.

- :-) Thanks for that suggestion, but client does not what track 1 to start with the 7 minute pregap material. It is supposed to be a "hidden track"

- Hi. Thanks! I did look at that previously. I actually know how to do it, but am looking for a CDR burner that is compatible with Sony CD Architect 5.2. All of their on-line and manual support says there is a "long list" of supported drives but inexplicably they don't tell you WHERE TO FIND IT! :-) Every drive I have tried says that "this drive requires the start time for track 1 to be exactly two seconds."

- Hi,
Thought I would get back with what happened on this. I was actually able to do this using Eclipse CD mastering software and a Plextor 755A USB CD burner. I had to manually hack the PQ subcodes by changing the bonus track 01 to 00 and then manually change the rest of the tracks by one increment. The resulting CD had a hidden track of 7:40 in length before Track 1. It played on numerous Audio CD standalone players. One accessed the bonus track by "rewinding" when at track 1. I understand that Plextor no longer makes the 755A drive, so I may go out on EBay and see if I can get one. Every five years we seem to get a client who just has to have a hidden bonus track at the beginning of their CD.....Thanks for all your suggestions and help everyone! This is a great resource! KJ
Try to record a 7 minute of silence...and put it as a "track 1" ....

i have a problem about burning a vcd. ive got a nero 6 application in my dell optiplex Pc. i put a blank cd-r into the liteon dvd drive. after i imported the needed mpg video files in nero vcd maker, it takes a lot of time to burn, and when it reached 100%, the software then ask me to save the image file of the compilation, and the process ended. But when i tried to test the vcd, it prompted as if its blank. Is there a possibity that the mpeg files were not burned in the blank cd? Or maybe im just lacking of the right procedures to follow. please let me know. thanks

PX -W4824A I had the old uninstalled EZCD Creator 4 from XP SP3 and had to use the delete the Upper & Lower Filters in the registry fix to get Device Manager to remove the yellow triangle exclamation points from my CD drives problem. Once the drives were recognized both in Device Manager & Windows Explorer (this was happening to an old Creative DVD-ROM drive, too) neither would acknowledge a CD in the tray "Please insert a disk into drive #:" even with a formatted or recorded audio CD or an OEM data / software CD. After a firmware upgrade to the Plextor and an uninstall / reinstall in Device Manager for both they will both read a CD sometimes but most of the time they will NOT. Some times if the CD was in the drive on reboot they won't read it until the disc is ejected and the tray re closed. Plextor sometimes identifies in Windows Explorer as CD-RW Drive but mostly as CD Drive. Autoplay also executes intermittently. Help will be greatly appreciated.

I installed my old plexwiter on my newer computer and the drive slows my computer down and it will not read any disks. Sometimes it will read music CD's and play them, but it will not reasd any other CD's, software CD's included. Sometimes it will not read any at all. I do have the driver. Sometimes it will freeze my computer, but if I open it and close it my computer ressumes. Also if I do this and just leave it open it will not close after a whils. Please Help.
