Changing the code for craftsman garage door opener

These are the instructions for changing the code for the keypad. If you are looking for something different post back.

Locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Press and immediately release this and then walk over to the keypad and key in any 4 digit code you like and press enter.

The inside button is hard wired. The keypad is a small radio transmitter. If the battery in the keypad is good and it doesn't work when you put in the code it has probably just quit.

Outdoor keypad frequently doesnt work

IF REPLACING THE BATTERY DOESN'T DO IT YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE KEYPAD.

NOTE: (IF YOU HAVE A ROLLING CODE SYSTEM) YOU WILL NEED TO REPROGRAM THE UNIT AFTER YOU CHANGE THE BATTERY.

HOPE THIS IS HELPFULL

Change the code on a garage door transmitter?

There is a "learn" button on the garage door opener unit itself that you press before entering a code on the outside transmitter. This allows the receiver to learn a new code. The button is on the rear end of the housing near the terminals where the inside operation pushbutton connects.
Here's a link to programming instructions for a compatible unit by another manufacturer:
