I keep going back to the page were I made the mistake of pushing the wrong button. before all that happened my computer turned it self off an started looping. that is some hum-dinger of code.
wow. what PC do you have HP model what?
what OS does it run?
what are you doing with the PC at the moment of error
that error means corrupted boot structures on HDD
the HDD is bad, as most are that old.
the OS is corrupted from virus infections.
the coin cell battery is dead and now tries to boot to the WRONG DRIVE.
In a real shop, we check the coin voltage and if bad we replace it then we fully test he HDD. as most are dead this old.
try repairing the file system using chkdsk with /f switch. However, it is strongly recommended to run this tool only if you have a full data backup . To do so, click \'Start\' and then \'Run\'. You can then type \'chkdsk /f <drive name>\' in the \'Open\' box and click OK. Here, the drive name should be exactly what is appearing in error message. Alternatively, you can opt for deleting the corrupt partition provided the backup is available. If no good backup exists, you should consider to use a Windows Data Recovery utility. These are powerful and valid Windows partition recovery utilities built to scan the corrupt or deleted partitions and safely recover the lost data. The applications are easy to install and use.
Apps like Acronis Disk Director Suite and Partition Magic that might help because they can be booted outside the OS. Sometimes it just cannot be done without destroying the data on the drive. Try one of those!
goto the recovery console this should help http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927392 get you there.
Then type /fixboot that will fix the boot sector but this can also be cause by a bad enviroment varible and you will need to either roll back the registry or get into windows to fix that.
The error code BI0HD-4 is a hard disk error. You need to delete all partitions on your hard disk and create new ones and format them
This will solve the problem.
Can you get it to boot without the BSOD? If the problem is intermittent, it's probably a flaky drive sector. If Windows will boot, you should be able to get Norton to make a good copy.
If it will no longer boot, the sector is probably corrupted. You can tell Norton to do a sector copy & ignore errors, but that may duplicate the problem.
