The JVC UBS Driver CD-Rom (No Win XP) does not run on my windows XP computer. I would like to side load from the camcorder to the PC using a USB cable or any other practical method. How can I go about this? Thanks in advance for the help and support. Kiarosjam

Well I'm afraid not the cable don't not come in such of a way either cause they are different type of cable, but what u can do is buy an external fire wire card for yr PC it comes in PCI format for yr desktop PC. because camcorder in these days do not use USB cables due to the cause that fire wire cable is much faster than the USB ones.

its true that normally you don't need to download the driver, however when it does pop up, i'd say go here and just download the zip file for the drivers.

Win XP sp2 not recognizing gr-d70

I had a similar issue. I had never been able to download video to computer because the computer never recognized the camera. As a last resort, I bought a new firewire cord today -- and my computer recognized the camera as soon as I turned the camera to play! It was four years in the making (I thought there was something wrong with my camera this entire time!), but it was just a cord issue. Now the cord that came with the camera is in the trash, and I can download video. I did buy an (XP) driver for I think $8 online, but I'm not sure whether that really had anything to do with it (I have SP3). I bought it from, and it was called the JVC / GR-D70U USB Mass Storage Class Driver + G.726 Decoder / Windows 98-98Se-Me-2000-XP, Item# 3021598. Downloaded it from the site. Hope that helps!

Problems installing JVC USB drivers

The JVC USB driver was written before introduction of the Windows XP system. This warning is displayed with other manufacturer’s digital cameras, also, and is not strictly a JVC phenomenon. In order to use the USB interface between the camera and your computer, select the “CONTINUE anyway” option provided in this warning display. To JVC’s knowledge, there are no negative effects to using JVC driver with Windows XP.
