Problem with sony dsc p92 - operation and battery life

Hello, I put in fresh new batteries (duracell AA) into my sony dsc p92 camera but after taking 5-10 photos it drains out. It is about 2 years since I bought this camera and it used to work fine but lately I am having this problem. Even while I am recording the movie - it stops recording by itself in the middle. I don't know what is happening. Let me know if there is a fix for this problem.

I have the rechargeable batteries too with 2050 mAH capacity from duracell - still the problem remains - I don't know if the batteries have lost the power over several months due to recharging. I bought those batteries @ 5 months ago. Is there a way to know how good the batteries are?

Try to switch to rechargeable Ni-MH batteries, i'm not sure it supposed to work properly with Alkaline, that's why Sony supplied battery charger and their Stamina batteries with this camera

Sony DSC P92 appears to be consuming power rapidly

What type of batteries are you using?

If you are using zinc carbon types, then a short life is to be expected.

If manganese types are fitted the it seem a little strange.

Is it still under warranty? If it is, then you should discuss your problem with the supplier.

Lithium batteries have more power but cost more.

Digital cameras require BRAND NEW batteries.

Look for 2200mAh or higher batteries.

Brand new duracel or Energizers will only last about ten photos. Look for Rechargeable batteries, perhaps from a camera store.

If brand new batteries don't work, then the camera may be dammaged.

Also, be shure the plus and minus ( +\- ) signs line up as pictured on the camera too.

Battery life on sony DSC-h1 is shortening

apparently, i was told by a sony sales guy, to use sony batteries WITH the sony charger. Don't use another kind of battery in the sony charger or use an engergizer charger with duracell batteries...we'll see if that fixes the problem as for I have the exact same problem! I'll let you know what happens! (though I'm very suspicious that the guy didn't know what he was talking about! worth a shot though since I've tried a lot of batteries and chargers to try and fix the problem with my H1!)

Battery life

Stop buying cheap batteries at Dollar Tree.

Buy ONLY good, fresh, duracell alkalines. I find these to last the longest with any intermittent use but heavy power drain device (like autofocus cameras)

Try and see. Def worth the money.
For freshness, look on the pack for expiry date BEFORE you buy... and get some spares too.

Did you try using the coolpix batteries that came along with the camera? check the ratings on coolpix batteries and compare them to the batteries that you are using now.

Sony dsc-p92, the batteries don't last very long

if you work on zoom. / flash & preview too often, they will eat into your battery life much more than just regular use. Also, if the batteries are old (more than 1 year) - high chances that they are at the end of their life span by now.
