Question about Epson AcuLaser C2000 Printer

Reset Procedure and/or English Svc/User Manual

I'm trying to give a second life to this printer. Printer Message on LCD Panel > "Replace Oil Roll" so need to be replaced/reset - I think it's still good so just want to reset, don't have the button combinations/procedure/sensor by-pass for the Fuser Oil reset; Might as well do a full printer/counter reset - if only I can get the button combinations or procedure; I've tried/done the Reset/All on front panel (even though in Japanese(?)characters) > no go; I have the following manuals: Quick Reference, Unpacking Guide, Setup Guide and Network Administrator's Guide all in pdf > no help; A local shop (4 hours drive) is charging equivalent of 10US just to reset > don't have the time nor the transport (printer is big); The same shop is selling a used Fuser Oil Roll for an equivalent of 30US, a reworked & presumed good as new Fuser Oil Roll + Reset Kit is available on the net for £5.99 + £1.50 postage (or something like that). Request for info/advice: How to reset (both fuser oil & counter); is it button combination or chip/part replacement; Source for a Fuser Oil Roll + Reset Kit at reasonable cost; and Downloadable Service Manual not user manual. Thanks all in advance.

    Hi all,
    Problem solved. Printer is working again except for a slight repetitive smudge 3/4th way towards the right. looks like drum/roller cleaning needed.
    The Fuser Oil Roll unit has a 3 terminal connector. It's covered by a snap plastic cover. Upon removal and clipping off the 3 terminals (2 are shorted) underneath is a glass fuse 80mA, replaced and reinstalled everything.
    Thanks to all who tried searching for a possible solution.

I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred and the ''wrench'' warning light came on. It is a AWD. What does it mean and what could the probable cause be?

It simply means that its time for routing service and maintenance on your car. This will normally be reset when you take it in for an oil change. 1. Ford has issued a Special Service Message (SSM), stating that the owner's manual procedure is incorrect, and giving a revised procedure. The following is the text of the SSM:

18562 2005 FREESTYLE/FIVE HUNDRED/MONTEGO - OIL LIFE RESET PROCEDURE
THE 2005 FREESTYLE, FIVE HUNDRED, AND MONTEGO VEHICLE OWNER'S GUIDE OIL LIFE RESET PROCEDURE IS INCORRECT. TO RESET OIL LIFE ON VEHICLES WITHOUT MESSAGE CENTER, USE THE TRIP/RESET BUTTON TO TOGGLE THE ODOMETER DISPLAY TO 'OIL LIFE XX%'. THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE BUTTON FOR 10 SECONDS TO RESET TO 100%. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL BEEP WHEN THE OIL LIFE IS RESET.
FOR VEHICLES WITH A MESSAGE CENTER, PRESS 'SETUP' TO DISPLAY 'PRESS RESET FOR SYS CHECK'. PRESS AND RELEASE 'RESET' TO START SYSTEM CHECK. WHILE 'OIL LIFE XX%' IS DISPLAYED, PRESS AND HOLD 'RESET' UNTIL 'IF NEW OIL HOLD RESET' IS DISPLAYED, THEN RELEASE. PRESS AND HOLD 'RESET' AGAIN UNTIL 'OIL LIFE SET TO 100%' IS DISPLAYED. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL BEEP WHEN THE OIL LIFE IS RESET.

My epson tx700 printer dispaly ink pad at end of life and printer not start

A fix from a forum:

Procedure 1 We found this procedure to work for the Stylus Photo 1270 type printer, and understand that it also works for the 870 range and even earlier models like the Stylus Color 740. The error is indicated on these printers by all four lights on the printer flashing. Even if you press the power switch on the printer, the lights continue to flash, and the printer does not turn off!
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable, for at least 20 seconds;
  3. When you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer's power switch was 'on' - switch it off and return to step 1;
  4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
  5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
  6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds (i.e. then release the button);
  7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.
Procedure 2
  1. Turn off your printer, ensuring that the print head is at it's home location and locked in place as normal;
  2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
  3. Turn on the printer;
  4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
  5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
  6. Allow printer to complete it's processing, then turn off for a few seconds, and back on again for a newly working printer!
Procedure 3 - for 1290 and possibly 890 printers 1290 printer with green (power / data) and red (ink / paper feed) lights flashing alternately:
  1. Switch off printer with panel switch;
  2. Switch off printer at mains switch - leave off for 20+ seconds;
  3. Hold down roll feed and sheet feed buttons;
  4. Switch on at mains;
  5. Switch on at printer panel;
  6. Continue to hold down roll and sheet feed buttons until both green and red lights flash together in synchronisation, not alternately;
  7. Switch printer off and then, after a few seconds, on again at mains switch;
  8. When red and green lights are both flashing in synchronisation, release the roll and sheet feed buttons;
  9. Press and hold down the ROLL FEED button (the one at the extreme left) and keep it down until the machine finishes whirring, cleaning etc and the green light comes on steady;
  10. Release the roll feed button and all should be well.

How do you turn off the oil change light after the oil has been changed?

GM Oil Life System This system calculates the estimated percentage of the engine oils remaining useful life and alerts you through the DIC when its time to change the oil by displaying CHANGE OIL. Please remember to always reset the oil life system after an oil change.

2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds.

3. Turn the key to LOCK.

Resetting Transfer Roller Life
  • Resetting the transfer roller life is to be performed only if the Transfer Roller Assembly was defective and or the assembly is replaced before an end of life or near end of life message. Not to extend the life of the assembly. Doing so may cause premature failure of other internal printer components.

  • The printer will prompt the user to reset the life counts if the assembly is replaced after receiving a Replace Transfer Roller or Replace Transfer Roller Soon message.
note_image33x30.gif    Note: If the main Menu does not appear on the front panel screen and only Replace Transfer Roller is displayed, there may be a print job that is either processing or currently printing. Try the following steps to clear the print jobs and reset the Transfer Roller life:
  1. Press the cancel button several times to flush processing jobs from the printer.

  2. If you do not receive access to the front panel menu by doing this, power off the printer and disconnect Ethernet, parallel or USB cable from the printer.

  3. Turn the printer back on, and while it is powering up, immediately start pushing the cancel key repeatedly until you receive access to the front panel menu.

  4. If the printer menu appears on the front panel screen, follow the instructions below to reset the Transfer Roller life if the printer did not prompt you to reset it:

  1. With Menus highlighted press OK.

  2. Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Supplies Info Menu.

  3. Press OK.

  4. Press the Down Arrow and scroll to Exit at the bottom of the menu tree.

  5. Now scroll up to Reset Transfer Roller Life.
