yesterday at my moms house ( im 14 so i still live at home ) my ps3 worked good , it was hooked up to a flatscreen with a hdmi cord. and today i brought my ps3 to my dads and i hooked my ps3 up with a normal cord but there is no picture on the screen... what do i do?

It might be the cable not the tv... Try hooking up an xbox or ps3... If the picture comes up on that then have someone come over to your house to fix the cable... If it doesn't work then send in your tv for a new one... Best if luck

can confidently say your ps3 is about to go YLOD, nothing really that
you can do about it, if you wanna continue to use it you will have to do
a reflow with a heat gun which is a very delicate process, I would
advice you to sell it after doing the reflow and let the person buying
know about the impending problem since it is a recurring one, go on
youtube and search for "Gilksy ps3 reflow", Hope this helps
OK, I am assuming you are using the same TV, PS3, cables etc that you were using before you went on vacation. Turn off the PS3...we are going to reset the video display. make sure everything is connected properly before we start. now here we "kinda" gonna turn it on, except you will hold your finger on the touch sensative power button until it beeps several times in a row with about a half second between beeps. It should reset the PS3 and the resolution.
If you get nothing on the screen after trying this several times, you should gather up 150 bucks and call sony for hardware repair.
First try plugging in a VCR or DVD player and see if you get a picture. If not, try changing the video cables. It may also be that your TV video jack isn't working. Which in that case you will have to get a new TV.
With the PS3 and the TV properly connected and both units off turn on the TV and set the input to the proper HDMI setting then press and hold the power on button on the PS3 until it beeps twice. This should resolve your issue. Please let me know how it works for you.
when u connect ps3 to your tv turn on main switch now red led will come on press and hold touch button ps3 will come on keep your finger on the button and ps3 will turn off again factory settings are now reloaded this will work because i often change from standard v to hd tv
I have sound on video 2, and when on a static channel but not on the usual channel 3 which is TV. Just stoppen working one day and cant figure it out... Please help!
I'm sure you already checked the connections on both the ps3 and Tv to make sure they are firmly and properly connected. So, when turning on the ps3, hold the power button for at least 6 seconds until you hear a second beep. this should reset your audio/video settings to normal.
if using HDMI, wait for about a minute for the ps3 and TV to negotiate a connection.
When u hold the PS3 power button this will reset the resolution setting if u changed, but if nothing happened like i posted earler all u have 2 do is 2 replace it by the warrenty as sony was helpfull they gave me another PS3, its because of manufacturing defeact , so just replace it u cant replace it .
