Question about Nikon Coolpix P2 Digital Camera

How do I rotate my vertical photos back to horizontal?

I cannot find out how to rotate pictures taken vertically back to horizontal when viewing them from the camera. I would like to change them on the camera for a slideshow. Is this possible?

I don't think your camera has that facility[to rotate image]. As for a slide show you will have to upload the images into a computer to make a slide show- which requires new software-your computer may have some all ready on board- Then will have to be burned to a disk if you want to view it off computer- the camera is out of this equation now. Come back if you would like recommendation for slide show software

Video clip was taken rotated

You can't without some very expensive software...and even then, the quality of your video will degrade significantly. Always shoot horizontally.

If the picture is taken vertically in EOS 400D SLR, there will be a black shade appearing in right side of the image. This issue was not there earlier. In recent times it started happening. It works fine...

I would be interested in seeing the dark image... check that its not the camera strap or some other part of your own pereson. Hold the camera UNDER the lens and take a vertical, noting where the camera strap is at the time. Perhaps put an example on one of the free photo sites and send us the link.
There is nothing inside a camera that should move and put a dark image on any pic.

Pictures taken vertical don't show up vertical in play mode they

From what I remember of the S550, it has an "auto rotate" (or words to that effect) setting in the setup menu. Turn this mode to on or active, and your vertical shots should show up properly oriented on the LCD, without having to rotate the camera each time. Perhaps another expert could correct me if I've made an error on this one.

File Error now shows in camera for rotated photos from PC.

The camera will not display photos that have been edited by something else. Rotating counts as editing. Just opening a photo and then saving it without doing anything else counts as editing.

Photos randomly show in vertical and horizontal position

Th full defect in detail would help. But dropping any digital camera can lead to numerous problems which will call for repair.
The problem here is not defined enough for me to see what your real problem is.
Some suggestions:
Reset all your settings from the menu.
Use a card reader instead of using the camera to get your pictures on to your computer.

Lines appear on photo's.

Hey Tia Cindy,
If the lines are vertical that is often a result of taking pictures of very bright subjects. This is aberration is called vertical streaking. If the lines are horizontal lines there is probably something wrong with your sensor and you should have the camera looked at by an authorized service technician such as bringing it to a Geek Squad® precinct in a Best Buy™ store, and they will send it out to have it looked at. I hope this helps!
