i assume your laptop is Aspire 5610z.
try to check in device manager first.
is your camera is detected in device manager ? it should be under imaging device.
if it not detected, mean something wrong with your camera.
if it is detected, checked the manufacture.
if it is microsoft, it's mean wrong driver. it should be bison, suyin or logitect. in this case try to install the correct driver.
you can download the driver and application from
www.acerpanam.com
will you please tell me how to do so? tq
I've check the BIOS, and there's nothing can be found like you've mentioned..
to murphybanton, thanks for the solution, but this problem have been more than a month. When I checked for the restore point at the time the webcam was still functioning, it's not there..
BIOS: I'm not familiar with this particular laptop (sorry), but generally,to enter the BIOS setup utility, you need to press a button just after switching on the laptop (usually del or F1, but the exact key is shown on the screen for a short period of time).
Once inside BIOS setup utility, you should look for something like 'internal peripheries' or 'internal devices', and check whether you can enable/disable the webcam, or usb ports.
Please be careful not to change any other settings, as this might impact performance, or even make the laptop not working any more. If you changed something accidentally, there is a way to exit the BIOS setup utility without saving changes. (Key combinations are usually displayed on the screen.)
Did you check whether it can be enabled/disabled in the BIOS?
