Samsung X427M cell phone If I call or if they call, no one can hear me. I hear them fine.
I had this same issue with my phone. At some point, whether I called people or people called me, no one on the other end could hear me. I had no problems with this for years until just recently. While researching online, I read that the microphone for the phone is located at the very bottom, and I've been having issues with the connector for recharging the phone.
I figured what the hell, and tried pulling out those rubber pads at the bottom that are meant to shield the phone from the flip top. Underneath the rubber I could see some of the interior of the phone, and sure enough, underneath the right rubber pad, I could see the microphone. After I pulled out the right pad, everyone could hear me perfectly.
I realize that the original post is over a year old, but I figured in the case that someone else has the same issue I as me or the original poster, here's a potential solution for you. It worked for me, but its possible that the cause of the problem may be something else for others. With some difficulty, I believe you may be able to stick the rubber pad back in if it turns out that the issue remains even after removing it.
Forgot to mention that before pulling out those rubber pads at the bottom, anyone with the same problem as the original poster should make absolutely sure that their phone has not been "muted." You can check this by going to options/ If it says "Unmute", highlight the "Unmute" option and then press ok to turn that off.
Thanks for posting this.
I've had my X427M phone for quite awhile now.
And yes, all of a sudden no one could hear me.
The rubber pads had become soft, like chewed gum.
So after reading your solution I removed the right one and now it works fine :~)

I have had the X-427m since this past June when I was able to receive an upgrade from Cingular. I am not big into all the new technology these new cell phones come with, so as I looked at the X-427m, it looked like the perfect phone for me(plus I got it for free). There are many things I like about the phone. The ringtones are loud(download some of your own though because the ones that come with it are terrible), its light(fits in your pocket nicely), and it has text messaging. The service as a whole is great with this phone, but there are some dead spots around my area(its a cingular problem not a phone problem). Some cons about this phone that I have heard from other people as well is that the speaker on the phone is not very loud. Many times I find myself having to ask the person I am talking to... to repeat what they just said because I couldnt hear them. At first I thought I was becoming deaf, but after hearing other people complain about this I now know this is a phone problem. Another thing that bugs the heck out of me is when I am on the phone and have another call coming in. The name that shows up on your call waiting is not who is calling, instead it will show a name who is in the beginning of the phone book. For example if I am on the line with someone and my friend Jay is calling on the other line, the name Anthony(or any other name in the beginning of your phonebook) will show up. Many times I have picked up the other line since I didnt know who in fact was calling me, and occasionally it would be someone who I really didnt want to talk to at the time. Overall though, I really like what Samsung has done with this phone. It has been out for quite a while now, and compared to other phones this X-427m doesn't match the other phones in terms of up to date technology. If you are looking for a basic phone that gets the job done however, then I highly suggest this phone.
