Can't get the manufacturer of motherboard and bios problem

I cant' find it. all i can see is the chipset name. i have a p4m266a chipset motherboard and i don't know who's the manufacturer of the board. i tried to seach the internet but of no avail. another problem is that, i have the computer running good until it crashed. when i was reinstalling the operating system, it crashed and says bios problem, not fully supporting acpi (i forgot if that's the right term). it also said to upgrade the bios to support that function. thanks for the help in advance.

You can find your drivers here:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/ECSSearch.aspx?menuid=0&lanid=0&keyword=P4M266A

You also need to know what rev. number it has to get the right driver.
It should be typed in on the mainboard.

Keyword:p4m266a Total:3 1. P4VMM2(V3.1)
BIOS - 1. Support VIA P4M266A chipset...
2. P4VMM2(V7.3)

Hi a need audio driver for P5750-60001.P4BMX

Did you check the manufacturer's website?
You can also check the audio manufacturer's website if you know the audio chipset.
A 3rd option is to use a driver finder program to locate the driver automatically.

I need a bios upgrade. I have a PT800DBP Motherboard Motherboard: CPU Type Intel Pentium 4A, 2833 MHz (7 x 405) Motherboard Name Unknown Motherboard Chipset VIA VT8763 Apollo PT800 System Memory 512 MB...

boot the pc from cold, note the long identifier number - it contains a 2 character identifier for the board manufacturer. For more info go to the Award bios website, it has a better explanation of this. From there you will be able to either download new BIOS from there, or the website of the vendor/manufacturer.

I cant find which typ of mainboard do I have to preform an update

There is a little program called CPUz.
Download it here:  http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz_149.zip

Extract the exe and ini files and run the exe.
When the program comes up, click the Mainboard tab and your manufacturer and model are right there.

Memory bank 2 is dead, no visual from graphics card

1st -- assuming you did goto youre bios first and adjust where nessicary -- grafics set to AGP not PCI or Pallet snoop (off).
Memory banks running NON ECC ( most common ) ..
blaa blaa blaa -- read ur Bios Update notes -- memory compatability .. and or .. make sure it's seated firmly in its spot-or swap em see if it's the bank or the mem ... run memtest to confirm ..
all else fails or dont want to mess with settings ---
then simply

RE-FLASH with Older Bios ---- see if problem persists ! ..

Bios problem man

There is no such thing as a Intel 845GE mainboard model #, however there is a CHIPSET from Intel called 845GE. That chipset can exist on multiple models of motherboards from different manufacturers, Thus we need to know who made your motherboard and WHAT IS THE true motherboard model #. Even if you cannot find the above information, if you can pause the computer in the black screen durng boot-up, you will probably see the BIOS ID string on the bottom left of the black screen. Write that complete string down and give it to us and we can then probably identify the manufacturer and model # from that.
For reference this Intel website describes the 845GE chipset and mentions that the chipset is carried by multiple models of motherboards built by different manufacturers. http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/845ge/index.htm

Where can I find Motherboard drivers

Hi Josh,

Dont Recognise the designation for your Mobo. P4M266A is a Via Chipset Designation. IF you tell us the Mobo Manufacturer I can point you in the right direction.
