Question about Canon PowerShot S400 / IXUS 400 Digital Camera

No Image on LCD

My cam do not show image/s on screen/lcd when I'm trying to shoot pictures.Please help, i need to use it on our meeting ASAP. Thanks a lot.

I just had the same problem. Canon's website says it may be a malfunction with the camera, they will correct free of charge.

LCD Display is Black

the image in the LCD monitor will darken in strong sunlight or bright light. This is normal occurrrence in device CCDs and does not contitute a malfunction. This image will not be recoded when shooting still photos, but it will be recorded wihen shooting movies.Read you owner manual and adjust the MENU, according with your o. manual.Otherwise you must go the repair shop

My Canon PowerShot A460 cam is working well until yesterday, the biggest festival here in our place took place. teh flash, the lcd screen, etc is working... but, when i took pictures, the lcd screen turns...

Please try and reset the mode of the image to see if the LCD does not go blank when shown to higher light. Also if there is no issue with the indoor pictures then it is possible that the auto light detection is giving a higher value to reset the image balancing. Shift from Auto to manual mode and try.

LCD screen does not show the image when shooting and viewing. Pictures comes perfectly. Can see only line in LCD

The LCD screen will need to be replaced along some circuitry because it has become defective, and I suggest a camera technician to deal with the technical complexity.

Can't viewb the LCD screen when shooting a picture! it's just black

The D60 works as SLRs have worked for half a century, showing the image in the viewfinder until you press the shutter. The LiveView feature which shows the image on the LCD screen is a rather recent development on DSLRs, unlike on point&shoot cameras. The D60 does not have this capability, which Nikon introduced with the D3 and D300.

Similar problems as other readers. camera turns on but no real time image on LCD screen. LCD contiues to show settings i.e. full auto mode etc. But I can view pictures already taken. Thanks

The XTi and prior EOS models have not capability to see the live image to be shoot on the screen. Only the image after taken can see on the screen. Other images also using the view mode.

If you can't review the images, eve if the display is turned off, just after they are taken, maybe the "Review time" is set to "off". Go to settings, 3th tab, Review time and set the desired setting.

You would need to buy a new lcd for this would be the obvious soltuon in this case. Do not shoot the messanger!

Canon Powershot SD1000: LCD screen display

Hopefully you resolved this already. If not, push the "DISP." button left of the MENU button. Pushing it gives you three options: black (for discreet shooting so your LCD doesn't give garner dirty looks from fellow concert goers), liveview, and liveview with info overlayed (shooting mode, ISO, etc.). your problem isinternal circuit fault the recording section is not working. which is not giving any signal to LCD . you nee dto give itr in service centre. fault may also come in change over switch which is not giving connection to LCD. Sangita
