It's a simple thing to do, it's a case of finding the correct bay that the memory resides in underneath your laptop. Remove a panel a time by removing the screws and remove the plastic cover panel and when you find the empty memory slot, you put the memory in at a 45 degree angle and then clip it in gently.

How do I upgrade the Ram. I don't know how to get to the memory slot.

    1. The first thing to do is make sure the computer is shut down.
    2. Please ensure that the power supply switch is turned off, you may leave the power supply plugged in while the switch is turned off to provide an active ground. However if your power supply does not have a switch then unplug the computer to make sure that it does not power on accidentally. Please discharge any static electricity by touching an unpainted metal surface before handling any computer components. Frying a chip with static electricity is a rare occurrence, but still possible.
    3. Remove the computer's cover following the instructions in the model-specific owner's manual.
    4. Locate the memory expansion sockets on the computer's motherboard. If all the sockets are full, remove smaller capacity modules to allow room for higher capacity modules.
    5. Once you've discharged your static electricity, pick up the memory chip by its top or sides. Don't touch the silver or gold contacts at the bottom, because even a little oil from your finger can eventually interfere with the connection. Regardless of the type of memory you have, it will only go into the empty memory slot one way, so look at the notches in the contacts and line them up so the partitions in the RAM sockets fit in the grooves.
    6. Insert the module into an available expansion socket. Press the module into position, making certain the module is completely seated in the socket. The ejector tabs at each end of the socket will automatically snap into the locked position. Repeat this procedure for any additional modules you are installing. The ejector tabs shown in the illustration are used to remove a module. By pushing outward on the ejector tabs, the module will pop-up from the socket and it can then be removed.
    7. For most installations, DDR2 modules can be installed in any available expansion slot. Other installations may require the memory to be installed in a particular sequence based on the modules capacity. Check your owner's manual to determine the correct installation sequence for your configuration.
    8. Turn on the computer and follow the instructions in your computer owner's manual that describe the steps necessary to allow your computer to recognize the newly installed memory. (Most computers will automatically recognize the additional memory installed).

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response.

    Thanks, Joe

    INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
    1. Place the computer's power switch in the "off " position and disconnect the AC power cord. 2. Remove the computer's top cover following the instructions in the model-specific owner's manual.
    3. Before touching any electronic components, make sure you first touch an unpainted, grounded metal object to discharge any static electricity stored on your clothing or body.
    4. Locate the memory expansion sockets on the computer's motherboard. If all the sockets are full, remove smaller capacity modules to allow room for higher capacity modules.
    5. Handle your new module's carefully; do not flex or bend the module(s). Always grasp the module by its edges.
    6. For some installations, DIMM memory can be installed in any available expansion slot. Other installations may require the memory to be installed in a particular sequence based on the modules capacity. Check your owner's manual to determine the correct installation sequence for your configuration.

  • Insert the module into an available expansion socket. Note how the module is keyed to the socket. This ensures the module can be plugged into the socket one way only. Firmly press the module into position, making certain the module is completely seated in the socket. Repeat this procedure for any additional modules you are installing.

Check the owners manual of your computer for the correct installation of 2 sticks of memory, this can be critical on computers with 2 banks of 2 slots, it will also tell you the maximum ram that will work. If you do not have the manual, go to the manufactures website and then go to the support link, and browse for memory installation. BPCS
