I put a pioneer 16x16 in my computer and hardly ever used it. now it doesnt play dvds. the tray opens and closes , with some movies it recognizes the movie but wont play ,but with most dvd just nuthin. what do you think?
If your computer recognizes a disc in the drive and operates normally, Id assume you would need a DVD player or codec to be able to actually watch the DVD. PowerDVD rings a bell.
Have you tired that? I know Windows Media Player by default wont let you watch a movie without first downloading a codec.
Try to download some free DVD player programs on your computer and they are designed for decoding DVD discs, unlike regular video players. You could try Leawo Blu-ray Player which can play both Blu-ray and DVD discs.
