I beleive your player saves a lists as well as the song itself. the easiest way to fix it is to (if possible) use windows explorer, goto your player and look for a folder that says "albums" or "list", scroll thru and delete the folder of the songs that you have deleted.

Plug mp3 into usb on tower. when portable device window pops up click on open device using windows explorer. double left click fixed storage. left double click music folder. To the right of the forward and backward arrows single left click on folders. To the left you'll see a list of artist. left click the artist you wish to delete and viola!!!! I sure hope this works for some of you, because I was ready a long time ago to return this to Best Buy and get something else. Good luck

Bad track error. songs arent deleting after reformatting and resetting multiple amounts of times.

There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details

If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files

The songs are in the wrong format or have expired licenses

My sansa e250

If you want to delete EVERY track off the player, then reformat the player in Windows Media Player - it's a shortcut - see my "tips and tricks" on formatting mp3 players

If there are artist, album traces, then you need to click on every subfolder under your device in Windows Media Player and delete every trace that way - tedious, but effective

Reset will not delete songs

Restore will delete songs

Double-click My Computer - Double-click Ipod logo - Double-click music folder - start dragging tracks from that folder onto a folder/desktop of your choosing

Help

The issue you have described with your portable device in most cases can be resolved by formatting your device. Please follow these steps even if you have already attempted them once before.

Please note that this will remove all music from your device.

Formatting the device in Windows Media Player

1. Open Windows Media Player with your MP3 player connected to the computer

2. At the top of windows Media Player select the Sync tab at the top

3. The MP3 player should be recognized on the right hand side and say "Your Player Name"

4. Above the player name is a button that says "Format Storage Media1.gif" click this button to erase all the data1.gif from the player

5. Continue with the acknowledgement of erasing all data on disk.

6.Get a firmware upgrade done if you have not done so...

Sansa is acting weird....

Well, you need to return it for a new one. If it has happened in so many few weeks, you need to. It sounds like you may have downloaded a virus. you are going to reboot it and or restart it, you have tried this so it sounds like it is just messed up. exchange it or send it in to get it reset. It will run you about $35. Thanks, Connie

Wont let me put songs onto it

umm..i have a suggestion... maybe there was a program in the player that wasnt meant to be deleted and WAS deleted by accident - maybe u should check if there is anything missing in your player other than the music that was lost. Im not sure this'll work but its just a check to make sure thing! bye
