Yep ... just figured this out myself today. When the Guide screen is up, navigate thru the options to Setup. Then select Review Options. You then get to a screen that gives you the option to turn of the system auto display.

Guide plus still works even if you don't have the wand hooked up. In the setup section of the guide plus there are several questions that must be answered properly or it won't function as you would like. It maybe labeled as options as well. Thanks
Symptoms / Customer Description TV Guide issues. Example: 1. Not getting the correct info, or no information. 2. TV Guide giving double channels. 3. TV Guide grid comes up but no information. [Primary Symptom Code: 118X ]
TV Guide information comes from the Host Station.
1. If no information on some channels or incorrect information not TV issue, but station not giving any information or incorrect information.
2. If grid comes up, but no TV Guide Info could be siginal issue.
3. Double stations showing up. Unfortunately double listing is the way it's going to be. They have to send out all possible OTA listings for the area. You can hide the channels that you are not getting.
For these type of issues Please have the customer call our Customer Support Line 800-222-7669 Our Call Center Rep. will fill out an investigation form with data pulled from the TV. These reports will be sent to Gem Star for their investigation, and the Call Center will get back to the customer.
This problem is possibly a failure on you digital main pcb. Hoping its not hardware, best thing is to try to totally reset the guide plus. Go into the guide plus menu and find the setting to reset or restart setup. If this does not solve you issue, try hard booting the tv (unplug for 2 minutes) and try again. In quite a few cases, the manufacturer of the tv will have a software upgrade that may fix guide plus issues. Contact your manufacturer for that information
Hello, I have had my TV for 3-4 years and have dealt with this stupid guide popping up for the last 2 when I got curious to see if it was something I wanted to use. FINALLY I came across a solution - so far so good but tomorrow it could be back? I did not have the option field some suggested to use. So saw another suggestion for something else and so far so good. When going into the setup guide. Select the USA, place all 0's in the zip code area and NO for everything else.... no VCR no cable, etc.
Hope this helps..
I also was able to do this without the remote - IF you can get the menu to pop up you just have to use the numbers to select what you need. Found the remote and saw nothing different as far as menu options. Good luck.
