My bose car stereo system no longer has sound. When the radio was first turned on, it would take approximately 5 minutes until there was sound coming from the speakers. This got progressively worse until it would talk 30 minutes before sound would come. Now, no sound from the speakers, only a small ticking sound. Is this an amplifier problem? I changed the battery in my 99 Nissan Pathfinder, and now the display for the clock and stations do not light up completely. The stereo and CD all work, but the display is very dim. I've tried cleaning all the connection with no results. Any suggestions. The stereo is a factory installed Bose system. Thank You Jeff

I had multiple problems with my stereo in my terrano just recently. first started with the digital trip meter going out and no audio, that was to do with the earth cable which came from te car. on mine it was a pink and silver cable, maybe it was done wrong from who ever wired it in first but it didnt like it so i went straight from the head unit to the chassis... secondly it could be the amp control cable. it may be loose or something. and thirdly a problem my friend encountered with his stereo was that the unit would turn on but no audio and after sctatching at our heads for a while we thought we'd go through from behind the head unit and remove each speaker when we took one out of the equation we got audio and it was because the speaker was shorting against the car body which would prevent any other speaker from working. hope these help. as for the dimming im not quite to sure maybe get a multi metre onto the power and see if its reading 12v.

My 2005 Acura TL stereo shuts off after being on for approximately 15 seconds. CDs won't play at all. So I switched to the radio and all the sudden a loud pop and it turns off. It will not let me turn it...

Really sounds like a short circuit.
Short circuits can cause fires.
Probably a good idea to leave the radio off until you decide on a place to fix it.
God bless your efforts.

Sony xplod stereo wiring diagram

Yes you need to turn on the BOSE amplifier in the car to hear the sound. The wiring diagram is actually on top of the factory radio
You will need a 12v trigger to turn the amp on. this is assuming you have all the speaker (inputs) connected to the output from your new deck.

I need to remove my Delco/Bose stereo system from my 1995 corvette

Remove the console door and then the top of the console then all the screws in the face plate, then the radio machine screws and the radio slides out. About 30 minutes on my 1996.

It helps to state what radio you have.....So did you find the fuse and its good?and getting power or just tried to find it? Try fuse 11 and 13 for the Nav. Fuse 8 and 9 inside and fuse 4 under hood for BOSE SYSTEM. Fuse 8, 9 under dash and 48 under hood for non BOSE

Bose stereo System

I would suggest checking the owner's manual on what the button does, but you could always buy an FM Transmitter hook it up to your Zune and play music from an empty station.
