These are the guys you need to contact if you are in the USA; http://www.bushnell.com/general/binoculars_legacywp.cfm?section=General%20Use They make a lot of the binoculars for B+L who make the optics, including the legacy models. Hope this helps :) If not in the US please ask again

I was wondering about the calibrations in the center between the eye pieces' and how they are used

It's there to help you set the binoculars quickly to your own inter-pupillary distance. Just make a note of the number the pointer on the scale is at when you find a comfortable setting for your eyes and then when you next use them just set the pointer back to the same number. The scale is the angle of the yoke, and you'll often (but not always) find that the scale works on other makes and models as well to help you quickly set the binoculars up to your own preferences. The left eyepiece will also have a dioptre scale (not always accurate) so when you have sharp right eye focus, adjust the left eyepiece until you get sharp left eye focus as well. The scale on the eyepiece indicates how many dioptres (+/-) your left eye is different to your right eye. If you know the left eye setting and the yoke angle, you can quickly adjust most binos to your own comfort settings. Fixed focus binoculars are different in that they have dioptre adjustment on both eyepieces, so left eye settings from regular binos are not directly useful on fixed focus binos, but the yoke angle may still apply.

I have a Leitz 8x20 binocular that neds new eye pieces. The rubber eye cup pieces are tearing.

The eyecups are available for free for UK residents from Leica Camera UK Ltd. just e-mail [email protected] with the model, serial number, if you require black or green and the address that you need them sent to and they should be with you in a week.

The earliest models below are no longer available but all the rest are.
8x20 C - 40300 (1975-1982) .
10x22 C - 40301 (1975-1982).

The rubbers on the eye pieces are deteriorated are they available anywhere

You'll need to measure your eyepiece in "mm". Also determine if your eyepiece has an outer ring the eyepiece will slip over. You can find eyecups/guards on Ebay. Search under Binocular Eyecup or Binocular Eye Guard. There are also eyecups under "rubber eyecups/rubber eyeguards" but alot of these are for Microscopes and may not fit. You will need to pay close attention to the mounting type and measurements.

Lost Nikon Travelite ex eye piece

I'm supposing by eyepiece you mean the rubber or plastic eyecup. The eyepiece is the whole unit that contains the lens. Nikon has a service center in many countries. If you have one in your country then they can order the part. I have ordered from Nikon. They find the part number if you tell them your model and can email you an order form. Alternately Binoculars.com is very good to deal with as is Adorama Camera in New York. Both will sell internationally.
