Have you tested this laptop using an external monitor? If your laptop works good with an external monitor, it means your laptop screen is dead and needs to be replaced. If the external monitor displays black screen , it means there is something wrong with the GPU and or motherboard.
From my experience this happens because Acer has a native problem with video chipset on the motherboard. I think your data is still on the hard drive, if you want to recover your documents you can extract hdd from laptop and plug into a case for sata/pata hdd. Depending on wich country you live the price for repairing the laptop should be around 100 euros top. This means the service will have to reball your chipset. Inform me with your decision (if you want to repair the laptop) and I will gladly assist you in resolving your problem.
Hook a spare monitor to the video output, usually on the back. If you get a picture it means the inverter board is bad, or the backlight behind the LCD display, check to make sure the round video cable is plugged into the motherboard. But, if the symptom is the same for both screens, the problem is the Video Graphics Card normally built into the motherboard. If the connector to the LCD is damaged that would explain the issue of no video.
To verify that your laptop is function and the monitor is now. Try plugging your laptop into a regular computer monitor. If the computer turns on and displays an image on the secondary screen, then you'll need to look into having your laptop screen repaired.
This could be either that your screen has failed, or has just become disconnected somehow from the screen to the laptop motherboard on the inside of the unit.
laptops don't powerup either because the battery isn't full, or it isn't plugged to the mains using the lead.if you think the above is fine then it must be because the laptops isn't accepting power in, eitherbecause of the motherboard has died, the chips have burned or the power button is faulty. if it's working using the battery but not using the charger then you need a DC socket repair.if it's plugged to the mains but there is no sign of any lights you're likely to have lost your motherboard.if your laptop does start but you see nothing on the screen its usualy the memory ram or the screen or the motherboard, plug it into an external screen and see what happens
this isn't something you can find a solution for in here, the best way is to take it to your repair shop an independent one will do, or else I recommend a website which collects it and does it for you cheaptofix.co.uk
