I previously used the Rangemax WPN824 v2 connected to my Verizon FIOS Actiontec MI424WR and had no problems connecting wireless. I substituted the WPN824 for a WNR854T and now can no longer receive wired or wireless connectivity. The LAN light remains amber (I guess that's because I don't have a gig port). Do I need to have a gig port for this model to work??
I do connect to the internet if I disconnect the WNR854T.
Thanks again for any help.
The WNR854T will downspeed to 10Mbps on its ethernet ports so speed should not be a problem.
Suggest you try crossover ethernet cable between router and dsl modem.

I think that you will find that there is a conflict of ip addresses for the Actiontec & the WNR854T. If you run ipconfig /all from a command prompt, you will see what ip addresses are designated under the default gateway for each of the peripherals. The WNR854T is acting as an Access Point so it must have a different ip address assigned to it if there is a conflict of ip addresses. I think you will find that they are both using ip addresses 192.168.1.1.
