I have a new DR-5010C scanner. I used to use the DR-2580C scanner. There was a Scan Panel that presented on the computer screen when documents scanned with the DR-2580C scanner. The Scan Panel is explained as follows in the help:
The Scan Panel is a scanner utility for use with the DR-2580C ISIS/TWAIN driver. It automatically launches when you set up the driver with the application program or perform scans, and it stays resident in the system tray while the driver is operating.
Is this Scan Panel, or something comparable, available with the DR-5010C scanner? I really need to have such in order to communicate to the scanner when the batch is complete and another batch is beginning.
I havent used Canon 2580C and hence cant comment on Scan Panel. But you can download SU5000 or Captureperfect 2.0 from Canon website (http://software.canon-europe.com/). This is easy to use and probably offers more features as compared to ScanPanel. Canon 5010C is a higher model as compared to 2589C and Captureperfect may offer better user interface.

I'm trying to scan a test chart into a DR-5010 scanner. It's a little wider than a regular page. I'm using paperport 11. I changed the width and legnth using the area tab, but it still cuts off about a fourth of the chart after it scans and goes on to paperport. It shows the whole chart when I preview it, but the output isn't the same as the preview. Any suggestions?
