I looked at autozone to understand what it is your asking and this camshaft slides in from the front on this ohv correct? however there is a seal in the back i dont understand why the engine engineer ever thought but hey im not him i just repair vehicles. so take some picks to pull the old one out then put some silicone on the out side of new plug and methodically press in to head it would be easier if the cam journal can be removed but i dont see thats possible

How is the camshaft timing set on a 1.4 turbo 2012 cruze

Hi Peter You will need to purchase a special timing kit to set up the timing. I would only advise an experienced mechanic to set it up. There is a pin which screws through the front of the engine and locks into a slot on the crankshaft. there is a flat bar which locks into the cut out at the rear of the camshaft and rests along the flat of the cylinder head. Also the camshaft front pully (variable timing gear). This has a phaser plate attached and this is set up with a third tool in the kit which is bolted to the cylinder head.
Replace bolt that runs through the gear into the camshaft and torque to specs Do not overtighten. Replace the cover cap to this bolt and tighten to specs. Both these parts need to be replaced. Oil flow is vital so sealing is a must the cap comes with a new seal Do not apply any other sealant in these areas. Good luck

Where is the camshaft position sensor located on a 2005 cadillac deville base model?

LOCATION
The camshaft position sensor is located on the rear cylinder bank in front of the exhaust camshaft. The camshaft position sensor extends into the rear cylinder head and is sealed with an O-ring.

Power steering pump bracket removal on 1997 chyrsler cirrus v6

Hi Dave,

Trying to do a timing belt? Can't figure out how to get to the bolt on the back side of the power steering bracket so you can get it out of the way and get the rear timing cover off?

If this is the case, all I can say is I know your pain!!! Been there, done that, MANY times!

The easiest way that I have found to do this (if you want to call it EASY) is to remove the upper intake plenum and the rear valve cover. Then the bolt can be easilly accessed by reaching over the top of the rear head.

Hint: this is also a good time to replace spark plugs and ignition cables. These engines like to get valve cover leaks that fill the spark plug tubes on the rear head with engine oil, so removing the valve cover and replacing the gasket and spark plug tube seals is a good investment if you are doing a timing belt anyway. Having the valve cover off also makes it very easy to loosen up the cam journal caps and make it easy work to install new camshaft seals also. - this way, hopefully, you won't have to go back in there for a LONG time!

Want to buy a 2001 toyota echo. The mechanic says engine oil is low and requires servicing. Is this a big deal or a minor procedure? thanks for your help

If the engine oil is just low, and there are no apparent leaks around the cylinder head, timing belt area, camshaft seals, rear main seal, oil pan seal, etc., it's just a matter of adding the correct amount of oil or performing an oil and oil filter change. If seals or gaskets need to be replaced, this can become a big deal.

Yes rear cam plug leaks are common. no need to replace, just remove & apply rtv to sealing surface. Also check cam housing on right bank rear. This can be removed & resealed with rtv silicone.
