If it got wet, the contacts could be compromised. Replacement is the answer. Look up the exact replacement on line and find one with a good price and replace it. Acre has manuals showing you how to do that. Check their Web Page/ Support/ Drivers/Manuals. Can be done in 30 minutes.
There is one thing you can attempt before seeking repairs. You should try a power reset.
1) Unplug the AC adapter 2) Remove the battery 3) Hold down the power button for 30 seconds and then release it 4) Insert battery 5) Plug in AC adapter and see if the laptop can power on
If it does not power on, you may need to seek support with Acer.
hi cblenman1!
Try to visit the Acer's support website so you can download the drivers for the keys. i hope this will solve your problem. here's a link
dont worry those drivers are for free, just try to reinstall them. have a great day!
For Windows Vista / 7 1. Press the Fn+Left Arrow Key for brightness down and Fn+Right Arrow Key for brightness up (the Fn key is located at the left side of the space bar) 2. If that won't work, go to Start > type Power Options and click on the Power options icon.
There are 2 possible answers to this common issue, the first is that the aspire has a mouse lock. check your keyboard on the function buttons for a picture of a mouse with a line though it, hit function and at the same time press the mouse with the line through it and if its locked off this will turn if back on. The second answer is driver issues, if the first suggestion dont work I would go to the Acer website click on downloads and drivers and enter your model number. Then download and install your think-pad and mouse pad drivers and install.
