I need to replace my hall sensor - LG WM0264H

I'n getting the LE code on my LG Tromm WM0264H. It will spin both directions for about 5 minutes then the LE code comes on. Have reset it (unplugged for an hour). Tried it on rinse and spin. Same problem.

How do I get to the hall sensor?

I am getting an LE error code on my LG wm2277hb washer. I have tested the stator and it appears to be good (ohms test between connectors). I have also replaced the Hall sensor as well. I've looked for bad/ broken wires but haven't found any. The motor doesn't seem to have any problems spinning. The drum spins freely without issues or noise. The motor seems to have no problems turning as it will cycle through the wash cycle without getting stuck. I have also run it through the diagnostic cycle and the motor spins the drum without issues. I am wondering, could be the control board causing this issue somehow?

I fixed this myself. I found an on-line LG service manual and bought the hall sensor (about $30). It took all of a half an hour to repair this myself. I read that too much soap and fabric softener will make the circuits on the mother board heat up and short out the hall sensor (gunk and resistance on the wash drum). It is running like a top again. The local parts store said to periodically run bleach and water through the soap, and softener despenser to help keep it clean.

I have a LG Tromm with an LE error code. I just replaced the hall sensor

With a digital volt meter you need to measure the ohms value of the hall sensor. It has 4 wires. White red blue and gray. With the meter set at 20k ohms check hall sensor at the control panel. From white to blue you should read 9.5 K ohms. Same with white to red. If u get 9.5k ohms on both readings u have a bad main board. However to me I think your pump is bad. LG washers will not spin if they don't drain.

Hi

Error code LE indicates that either the motor is not turning or has locked up for some reason. It can also be due to Hall sensor which monitors direction and speed of the motor. If the sensor is faulty then also this error appears. Motor lock can be caused by several things from a loose connector, to a bad motor. To make sure it's not a locked motor, try turning the drum with your hand. And, if there is any resistance while turning the drum or the drum doesn't move freely then the motor is locked and you'll need to get it replaced. If the motor seems to be fine then you would need to replace the Hall Sensor. To replace the hall sensor, take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Hope this helps...

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall effect sensor is used in these washer which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when their is an issue with the motor or when the hall effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sesor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

We think the code te is coming across the screen

Could that be maybe an LE code?

Problem:

An occasional LE error but always a slow or no spin.

Solution:
A Red wire going to the Hall sensor was intermittent. You can test this from the main board connector down to the connector on the hall sensor by checking continuity. There is an intermediate connector down by the motor/hall sensor so you can isolate the problem even more. Problem was in the short wire harness that connects directly to the motor and hall sensor. Could not find the open point of the wire so added a new red wire and integrated it into the harness.

Machine gives an LE code and will not operate

I follow the following process:
1. drain water
2. unplug for 20 minutes
3. spin the drum manually 3 rotations
4. back in business.

This is usually caused bu a faulty hall effect sensor.

LG Tromm washer is not working with getting LE message.

LE code means locked motor error. you need to check the Hall Sensor. unplug the power, remove the rear washer panel, locate the Hall sensor connector on the stator behind the rotor. you can test it with an OHM meter for failure. it may just be an unstable connection.

Will not spin

First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000
