Re: ps2 console

I am going to say to check to see if your CD has any scratches on it. Check both sides because it won't work if the cover is scratched as well. Open it up carefully, if it is the slim, don't open it, it has a connection you can sever. If it is not open it up, open up the dvd tray and then with a qutip dipped in a bit of alcohol, clean the lens very carefully.

What is a PS2 format disk and where do I buy one.

Hello thompsonfc,
A PS2 format disk is basically any game disc that is created for use in the Playstation 2 console. Any PS2 game that you buy in the region where you bought your console should be compatible. Certain PS1 games and PS2 games from different regions will cause this error to display. Send a reply if you need any further information or please rate this solution if you found it helpful. Thanks!

My PS2 has stopped working!!!

spindle motor went bad it sounds like. Open up the ps2 and inside of there, you'll see a ribbon for the drive, take it off of the board and then reseat it.

Now put the top back on and try the drive again. If it still doesn't spin then the drive will need to be replaced.

Ps2 wont play DVDs

Your PS2 laser is wearing out. When the laser starts to go, first games will skip... then eventually the PS2 will stop reading DVDs altogether. If you keep using it to read CDs, it will eventually stop reading those too and the laser will die altogether. Here's a website that will help you identify your PS2 model, show you how to replace the laser, and they sell parts and do repairs too

How can i get a playstation 2 games and how can i copy to my cd

Are you talking about backing up your PS2 games?

For that you can use many different programs (Alcohol 120%, Nero, Magic Disc< etc.)
But this is the catch, you can back them up and burn them, but you can't play them. You see, Sony burns their games in a special way, the disk (PS2 game) tells the console, Hello I'm a PS2 game, but your backup would say, Hello I have this in me ("this" is what ever game). But ye you can play them, but for that ou woud need a mod chip. Mod chips void warranty and if not installed correctly, can ruin your console.

Anyways, hope this helps.

How do u pause on sims 2 PS2

L1 only pauses the movements of the characters. I believe you need to press the actual start button located in the mid-center of your Sony analog controller.

Explain Pause for cheats PLEASE!!! Sims 2

ok. 1.Put the game in. 2.Select whatever gameplay. 3.When Loaded, press the START button located in the center of the controller. 4. Press(not hold) the selected buttons you need to press for example: R2(press R2) Triangle(press triangle) etc.  5. Now do this as fast as you can. If you can't do it fast, either get somebody who is fast, or practice. 6. I think on Sims 2 they make a noise when you get it.

Going to the console browser instead of reading disc

Hi Morquea, I believe you have the PS2 Slim model. This model has a laser with plastic housing and when it tries to read a disc for along time like hours, the lens housing begins to melt. You may be experiencing this and the process of melting is slow, so no way of knowing what wil happen since the laser adjusts itself to focus in on the media. One day or one disc might work, and another wont. I normally see Blue colored PS2 discs work and silver colored disc not work. This is a tell tale signof melting. Sony did not buiuld the slim as tough as the previous fat Versions. This helps them save money on Shipping and raw metarial costs. When the Laser automatically adjusts focus all day, it gets extremely hot and melts. You need a new laser. I can solve your problem there by replacing the laser for you for $32 plus shipping. contact me through
