Yes look for and check your set and make sure it's the stk392-110. If you can solder you can carefully change it. I would replace all, you may have 2 or 3 in there. Also make sure you don't bridge the pins. Meaning soldering 2 pins together, just be careful. Unplug set and be careful of unscrewing board.

RCA R52WH77 - The picture will go out after about 20 minutes but sound is still on. Turning tv off/on will not get picture back on. I must unplug tv for awhile, then picture will work for about 20...

Your horizontal or vertical chip is failing after they get hot causing your set to loose its high voltage. Whenever one of them fails completely your set will fail to come on. If you are a tech check all the caps even the ceramic ones in the high voltage section before replcacing a chip.

My Toshiba 65H80 has red convergence problem. It

You may have cooked your new IC's
I am working on the exact same problem with the same symptoms. Make sure the tv is unplugged for at least 5 minutes before poking around. The power cord can be unplugged from the power board and removed to keep anyone from plugging it in while you are working on it.
Check the output resistors that are beneath the heat sink on the left side of the board. There are also fusible resistors, like #7711, on that side.
Check fuse 853 on the Power board. This is the board on the left when viewed from the back of the TV. You can remove both boards in the carrier by carefully unplugging all connectors, noting their locations and routing.
To remove the high voltage wires from the splitter, mark them for position then grasp the boot and turn counter-clockwise about 10 degrees to unlock them and then pull up while holding the High voltage splitter. The small high voltage wire can be removed from the flyback transformer by pulling hard while holding the flyback.
STK392-110 can be replaced with STK392-120, STK392-180, STK394-160.
I have found most of the parts at Also check out this site for some very good info:
btw: I am not affiliated in any way.
Make sure that while you have the boards out you look for any bad solder connections. A lot of problems arise or return because of this.
I hope this helps, I have been doing a lot of searching to get this info and hope it helps you.

Too many people want to trickle the info and pretend they are giving you gold. A few hobbyists or people that can't afford to pay $300+ for repairs are not going to hurt their business.
Be safe and share knowlege freely!

Have a 53FDX01BA that has No picture great sound. Cable tech says it's the tv. Why would it be doing this

It sounds as if you have lost your heater circuit for the picture tubes. This circuit actually allows the tubes to light. RP41 which is a 1.5 ohm resistor goes out of value causing the circuit to lose its voltage from the power supply. If this is not the problem there is probably a loss of high voltage. High voltage can be dangerous so you probably want to leave it for a pro. Thanks

No picture, high voltage cable sparks at left tube/gun at turn on

It sounds like you have a shorted picture tube.
You should call a good TV Tech to confirm this and get an estimate.

My 65H80 is dead

Kind of sounds like open conections on a regulator ( bad solder) give it soft shake
and see if that causes it to work or not work.

Toshiba 65H80 has yellow hue.

Check you HD inputs or source. Sounds like the red stream is missing; maybe a loose cable.

TV made a very loud pop and shut off. When trying to turn it on again, just get a buzzing sound.

Sounds like you blew the horizontal transister in the CRT's high voltage circuit. It's common with tv's that are old or full of dust on the inside.

RCA 32 in TV no picture no sound just a beeping noise TV power is on

The beeping sound is most likely the high voltage generator needing replacement. This is a fairly easy job if you have some tech support to discharge the picture tube. You can go to the following link and leave them an email with your model number and your symptom and they will email you back with the part you need and they provide free tech support with instant messageing so you can do the repair yourself. the HV generator takes about a half hr to replace and takes only the basic soldering ability. heres the link.
