Question about KitchenAid Model: KSSC42QTS
The manual doesn't tell me anything about that blinking red light at the icemaker on/off switch. It's not producing ice, the water line isn't frozen, the freezer is good and cold, there is no ice jammed in the storage bin or dispenser parts. Help! SAME PROBLEM - ICE MAKER ON/OFF HAS BLINKING RED LIGHT,WILL NOT FILL WITH WATER TO PRODUCE ICE.

good sign its flashing , woth door open depress the left side flap oppiste the blinkin light. does the light then go solid red??? i fso its an indication that the electricl eye is operating ok .
theres a screw 1/4 in. along the right side underneath the icemaker itself, youll need to removeit and the cover its holding down. you can then slide the ice maker assy foward and out of machine,There will be another litle tab along loeft side uder ice maker youll need to depress to ppulll unit out. pry off the white cover from front of the ice maker assy itself and have a look at the main gear 2 in. round, is it broken off, or on its way top breaking( sometimes the tabs that hold it on to the ice maker module itself break preventing operation, if this is the case youll need to repalce the ice maker assy.

No, I have not found the solution for my icemaker. I was hoping that I would get some answers from this site. I have the same questions that others had and did'nt have to be refered to your premium support site. So if you can please help me or have any suggestions that would be great.

SOURCE: icemaker is not producing ice
There is a switch that turns it on or off. There may be a number of things wrong with it. Try tinkering with the switch. It should be a metal rod that sticks out.
