Question about Sony VPL CS4 Multimedia Projector

1 Answer

Sony VPL-CS4 projector

I got this projector, but cannot get it going. The lamp is lighting and I have it connected through a 15 pin D-Sub ( supplied with the projector) to my labtop, but it will not pick it up. When I press the menu button nothing happens nor either with the input button. Help to get this going would be great Regards Denis

Re: Sony VPL-CS4 projector

Denis, by default laptops usually output only to their own lcd panel. There must be a key combination on your laptop wich rotates output in 3 steps: lcd panel only, lcd + TV (projector), TV only. The key combination uses a special Function key (FN) usually blue (found near left Ctrl key)with one of the numeric keys. So, first make sure your laptop output is correct and then try input key on your projector.

  • Turn the projector on with the "Power" button. Press the "Menu" key to enter the projector's menu settings.
  • Press the down arrow to navigate to the "Install Setting" menu and press the right arrow to select it. You should see the lamp timer at the bottom of the screen. If you have correctly reset the lamp timer, it will indicate 0 or 1 hours.

I have the Sony VPL CS1 projektor and want to connect it to my tv, so that i can watch television channels on the big projektor screen, is this possible?

if your TV has video output signals for the program you are watching, then you can connect them to the projector.
otherwise you may need to get a cheap digital set top box and tune to the same tv program, and use the video output to feed the projector

    Sony CS5 Wont turn on

the cover switch is probably not fully made.
Ensure that the cover tangs are pushing the pin
    on the miniswitches.
Try putting slight pressure on the fan or lamp cover to see if the lamp/cover light
    stops flashing.
you will need to do a restart on the PJ to check this out
