SOURCE: Dometic fridge 'check' light keeps coming on...won't cool

Yes , the check light is there to tell you that your out of gas yes this is true but the device which switches to power is not changing over which will not let the heaters work and will not start the process of cooling, I suggest to inspect the switch and ensure that this is the case first before consulting a mechanic.

SOURCE: fridge does not cool on either gas or electric

either the thermometer is bad, the thermostat is bad, or your coils need dusting. Is your compressor running?

Also clean the condenser assembly. Also check the evaporator tray to see if it is wet. It should be.

You also can remove the rear cover inside the freezer. Now, after the compressor has been running for about 25 minutes...You may have to leave the doors open to accomplish this, wet your finger and touch the silver evaporator coils from top to bottom and front to back. Does your finger tip lightly stick to these coils all over? It should be.

Next thing is to check the air diffuser assembly.....This one should have you nearing the end of this diagnosis. Good Job so far. Basically you have a electronic damper control which they are calling an air diffuser. It is located between the walls of the freezer and the refrigerator at the top rear. It is a vent that has a little motor controlled by the main control board according to the readings the thermistor relays to the electronic control. What happens is the little plastic door hinge breaks and the motor turns but the door does not open or close as programmed anymore. You may have to gain access from both the freezer and refrigerator side to remove this to inspect it for a break. If I remember correctly, there are little tabs on the freezer side that must be depressed to remove it into the refrigerator side. If this is broken, open the door manually about 1/2 of the way and reinstall.

Oven wont work everything else is fine

As your oven is electric there is a heating element in the oven, have a look in the oven to find it and check the little plug in caps on the end to make sure they are not loose. If they,re ok check the switch on the front panel sometimes the knob comes loose on the spindle if that's all ok it may be the switch has failed. Good luck.

Coils freezing due to dust blocked coils and or air filter or short of gas. Service your unit completely. Please do not change any spare/s without knowing exact problem. Please follow the steps given below.

Toget proper heat, keep your temp setting at 30+ degree and also mode in "heat"position. If still no heat, check your heating sensor for closed circuit by anOHMs metre. It it's with RV, check power to RV.If it's with heatingelement check power to element. If power is there but still no heat meanselement defective. Replace new heating element. Thanks. To get proper cool, keep the tips as follows:
1. Check air filter is cleaned. 2. Check indoor coil is cleaned. 3. Checkindoor blower motor is working. 4. Keep in cool mode. 5. Set temp minimum 3degrees less than room temp.6.Check compressor is working with correctpressure.

My LG Lan125HV works fine on air conditioning ( cool) but heat pump does not trigger when I move to heat or combined settings. Tried all temperature and fan settings, tried waiting to see if unit waiting...

I talked to LG customer support (800) 243-0000. The tech told me that this model had a problem with the indoor thermistor. It doesn't fail with an open-circuit condition, so you don't get an error code. The thermister just goes out of range and believes your indoor temp is much hotter than it is. That's why the heating never comes on. I'll bet that, even though it ran in COOLING mode, once your room reached setpoint, it just kept on cooling & cooling ... because the thermistor was still giving a false, high temp reading.

So, I bought a new thermistor, P/N 6323A20042A. My unit worked fine. Until the next week when I turned heating back on and now I have the same problem ... gives cooling but no heat. Something is failing the indoor thermistor OR the distributor sent me an old-style thermistor, I haven't gotten determination on that yet.

Regardless, call LG and see if they can't direct you to a distributor for an indoor sensor. LG's warranty coverage for parts is a royal pain, unless you can show a receipt by a certified installer, you're not going to have much luck getting payment for the part. However, the thermistor is only $10. Just hope you get one that doesn't fail on you!

Problem with the electric on fridge not working

Hello Paintinfool3,

I have worked on these in the DISTANT past...
They are a great CLASSIC design... Working on gas
means you are 90 to 95% all good

The electric comprises two basic elements
only confused because you have both AC & DC modes.

Just for simplicity sake the ELECTRIC section
(heater & thermostat) section in the BELOW begins
with SECTION 63...

You need a volt-meter with an OHM scale...
(the $9 kind... HARBORFRIEGHT gives away).

There is a yes/no trouble shooting guide.

Also CUSTOMER CONTACT numbers in the very back.
