I was playing a movie and half way through the picture froze. I turned the dvd player off then back on and tried again but all it would say was bad disk. Now it won't play anything...all it ever says is bad disk. It is a go video dv2150. The same dvd diabled our playstation and dvd burner too so I know that the player daoesn' need to be cleaner (though I did try that anyways to no avail).
-   Inserted a disk. screen says its loading. continues loading but doesnt actually load the disk. sometimes will say BAD DISK and sometimes not. It happened al of a sudden during episode selection while the disk was readable and working fine.-   Guest

-   Have had this model DV2150 for a year or so without a problem until now. Any disc I try results in a BAD DISK message. Tried to use a dvd cleaner and the same thing. Now what?-   leo3254

-   Insert disc. get "loading" signal then "bad disc".,regardless of disc. Clean disc:no joy. removed casing. noted; disc sometimes will not spin unless finger started, then spins at erratic speeds, the part containing the laser that rides on rails jumps back and forth. tried cleaning the lense;no luck. Has only about 150 hours in it. Suspect it is a poorly engineered product.-   Guest
if this disk plays on other sources then it is not the disk and sounds like it is a problem with the laser or the motor that pushes the laser along the disk if it dont play no disk at all then it is the layser if you have used a good quality lense cleaner and that didnt cure it then you could try if you are ok taking the case off leave it for 24 hours to make sure no electric is running through it and look where the laser eye is it should be neer the middle where the center of the cd sits if it isnt gently push it back to the middle this will recalibrate your laser then put it back together and try again if this dont work you will then have to get a replacement laser unit these can be expensive but you should be able to fit it your self as the wire areconected by conector but before you do this make sure you use a good lense cleaner as the cheaper ones wont work all the time and listen if the cd is spinning in the unit if its not spinning then you need replace the unit if you dont feel up to it then a repair shop will do this for you their si no way round it other than to replaceit they usually last the life of the warranty they are made to last no longer hope this is some help but not much more you can do

I have a'' GO'',dvd/vcr,combination player. I use a basic hookup.(antennae cable right into the vcr/dvd player). When I use the vcr part to watch tv or record I lose the picture and get a blue screen. When I wiggle the antenna cable the picture returns, but, I lose the picture again when some internal connection is lost at the ''in'' connection for the antenna at the back of the player/recorder. I have changed cables , but, this didn't help. I have an old TV. This is the only way I can connect to my TV without buying some other device to make a different connection. I am willing to buy another device to make a different connection. Willing to pay about $25 for an external device to make a different connection. Will be moving to another state in 1 year and don't want to buy another TV at this time.
