I have an HP 2610 photosmart all-in-one printer and my computer was reformatted about 3 weeks ago. It was working fine before the reformat and now I can't get it to work again.
I try to print something, do "find printer" and it says the spooler service isn't available.
When the system was reinstalled, the proper printer drivers probably weren't installed. Unplug the printer from the computer. Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Printers. If your Photosmart 2610 is there, right-click on it and select 'Delete.' Allow it to remove all associated driver files. Run the printer's setup CD. If you don't have the driver CD, go to this link: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=421139&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us select your operating system and download the Full Feature Software and Drivers (hopefully you have a broadband connection). Run this setup program and follow all of the on-screen instructions. Do not plug your printer into the computer until instructed to during the installation.
This should resolve this problem. Happy printing!
