Question about Sony KV-32S36 32" TV
When I turn the tv on, I get audio, and the red LED light flashes. However, I am not getting a picture, it flashes on and off as if it is trying to come on, but thats it.
The LED blinking is a code which should tell us where to start looking. How many times does it blink? Unplug the set, plug back in and press power and count the blinks. I have one record for a Sony KV32S12 with the same symptom but I dont know if that is the same chassis as yours, but check and see if you have this. Resistor location R701 on the CRT drive board, should be 560K ohms. You will need a VOM meter (I prefer digital) And if you open your set you may have to disconnect some connectors "remember where they go" And do NOT attempt to disconnect the wire that comes off a transformer and goes to the CRT (picture tube). This is the high voltage anode, the CRT (even with the set off and unplugged) can still hold a substantial charge up to 30K volts!!! If that resistor is there check it to see if it is open (no reading on your VOM). Let us know what you find. Hope this helps! Don
